Terri, I sent your problem to Ethel. If I were you I would contact an AP doc

just for info until you are ready to wean the little one. Just ask how often you

can take the Zithromax and if erythromycin would be better. Also call your

pediatrician and ask what he recommends till you are done. I know he won’t

recommend antibiotics but maybe something for the discomfort to help.

Are there any other women here who breast fed and took antibiotics???

Did you ask on the other site if there was anyone who bf and what they took??

I wish I could help more. You should hear from Ethel. Let me know if I can help

more.

Merry Christmas.

Hi, Cooky!

I live in southern land (figure the DC area). There aren't many docs here

as it is more rural, but DC and northern Virginia are both accessible. It was

actually a rheumy in No. VA that diagnosed me when we lived in this part of the

country 4 years ago. I've considered contacting him to see if he could offer

any guidance. I only saw him once (just before moving, of course) and the

diagnosis of RA and fibro left my head spinning. The only treatment he offered

at that time was usual line up of meds none of which I could take if pregnancy

were a possibility. So, I went away without much help and later found this

group and the New Arthritis Breakthrough. Still, I wonder if he would have had

other options if I had known to ask?

Blessings!

Terri

Merry Christmas, and thanks, Cooky!

Fortunately, my pediatrician doesn't have any angst over the azithromycin.  At

baby's first appt, I took in every pill bottle I had and asked him what was okay

and what wasn't.  The azithromycin, tylenol & advil were the only things he

okayed.

Blessings!

Terri
