Guest guest
Hi Kathy; I don't know where you live but here in Canada vets are very aware of Lyme disease and can cure it quite easily if caught early.Animals seem to respond much better than people. We now know it can be spread by fleas and mosquitos as well as tickd. All of us with AI diseases should be tested to make sure that is not the cause of our diseases.Too bad that our doctors are not as smart as vets. > > > My 7mos old poodle was just (today) diagnosed with lymes disease.. hes > had some " soreness " on an off, but today was crying and wouldnt walk. > so now hes started on doxycycline 50mg 2xs a day for a month. Guest guest
Kathy, I think it is a great idea to treat your puppy with doxy. Perhaps he/she will get all better. I had a puppy that came down with joint issues. Lyme was not suspected. It didn't dawn on me to try abx until she was a few years older and had quite some joint damage. The damage continued, but maybe a slower rate? It is hard to tell what would have been w/o abx. She just died at age 11. Take care, Ute
