Hi Listmates - I took Chase (4.1 ASD)to see a developmental

pediatrician yesterday. She was on the DAN list, and attended the

conference, but she is NOT a DAN doctor and said they must have

automatically put her name on the list. Anyway, she was very

interesting to talk to. She is supportive of the diet and agreed

about a problem with the proteins, especially casein. She was not

supportive of the testing, basically saying they are out to get our

money. Some supplements she felt could be helpful, but not to the

extent that we are all doing them. Well, so we don't agree on that,

but asked what she could do to help Chase. She said he should have

an MRI done to check for a cyst or brain imflammation, she was

concerned that Chase went cross-eyed over night just after he turned

2 years old. I have always been concerned about the suddeness but no

other doctor took it seriously. (He has worn glasses ever since). I

was glad that she took note of that and wanted to investigate that

further. From her evaluation, she believes that his main problem is

filtering and suggested at some point (after more eval and MRI etc)

that we consider trying a drug called Tenex or Clonidine which is

typically used for hypertension, high blood pressure and recently for

ADHD. Have any of you gone this route before? Thanks for any input

you have on these drugs or on the MRI experience. Llynne
