Guest guest
Maz, sorry to hear that you had such an ugly response to Prednison. I know it is a bad medication, it does help some people. I did use it for over 3 years and the one problem I had was eye hemorrhages. I finally stopped it, but slowly. Gained 65 lbs and looked like a blimp. Hope you doing better now. RBF will be back up on Nov. 9th. Here is the notice: At last! RBF is moving the Discussion Forum on Tuesday 9th November. The current Discussion Forum will be closed from 9 a.m. (EST U.S.) on Tuesday 9th to allow us to move over all current posts - and hopefully PM’s too - so nothing gets left behind. You will be able to access the new Forum from around midday (EST U.S.)on Tues 9th November You will NOT have to re-register if you are already registered here All posts - and hopefully the PM's too - are being moved across You will access the new Discussion Forum from our main site: Go to http://www.roadback.org  click on ‘Discussion Forum’ to go straight to the Forum A re-direct will be left up at http://www.rbfbb.org – so no one should get lost in the transition Whilst there are obviously going to be some visual and a few mechanical differences with new software, all should be similar enough to make it pretty easy to use from the outset. Any minor issues can be ironed out once we are there. I'm sure we're all looking forward to re-engaging with everyone really soon! I had to use 3 days of 25mg pred to attempt to get rid of a severe allergic reaction & got every side effect known to mankind...manic, depressive, nausiated, vomiting, couldn't sleep, visibly shaking, on a high high then the depths of a low followed by being really angry & my moods shifted within minutes from one to the other & back again. I am fortunate enough to not used pred previously but I can assure you there are big red crosses on my medical files now NEVER GIVE PRED !! I don't know how anyone takes that stuff??? Guest guest
I'm sorry for the bad reaction you had Maz. I see you were taking 25mg., what is doses were others on who got diabetes etc. I've been on 2.5mg since the beginning of this year, I am trying to get off of it and we all know what a slow process that is. I've heard as long as you are under 5mg. the bad side effects aren't usually experienced, does anyone know if that is true? Thanks, Sue ---- frank feczko <ffrescaa@...> wrote: > Â Â Â Maz, Â Â Â One of the first meds I was given for RA was pred.....did not help....but I got diabetes from it......still have diabetes, but am in remission from RA....thanks to RBF and minocycline.....frank > > > > > > From: maz.aust <maz.aust@...> > > Subject: rheumatic Bad reaction to Pred > > rheumatic > > Date: Monday, November 8, 2010, 8:58 PM > > > > Â > > > > Hi everyone, haven't been posting for a while now but I do have a question // has anyone else had a bad reaction to pred? > > > > I had to use 3 days of 25mg pred to attempt to get rid of a severe allergic reaction & got every side effect known to mankind...manic, depressive, nausiated, vomiting, couldn't sleep, visibly shaking, on a high high then the depths of a low followed by being really angry & my moods shifted within minutes from one to the other & back again. > > > > I am fortunate enough to not used pred previously but I can assure you there are big red crosses on my medical files now NEVER GIVE PRED !! > > > > I don't know how anyone takes that stuff??? > > > > Maz > > > >
