I had polymyositis. My CK (blood test- measure of muscle death) was 17,000

at its highest (normal is less than 200). It is now below 4,000 after 18

months on minocycline alone. I am expecting a return to fully normal blood

work in the next year. 95% of my symptoms are gone, and I was nearly dead!

Severely disabled and so weak I couldn't brush my own hair or get up the

stairs or dress myself or swallow! I wake up at 7-8am feeling great instead

of waking up in the afternoon with immediate suffering that lasts every

waking moment. My strength scores were a median of 3 in 2006 and are now a

median of 5. (5 is perfect) Can't wait to post my story on the website when

my labs are normal! Many many thanks to this group for getting me to this

point!
