Guest guest
Amy, Nope, it was Definitely Evening Primrose Oil..a supplement..because I had been taking it ....I have a book somewhere, in my entire bookcase of medical books that does mention that it can be risky for women....It was early on when I became sick tho..so maybe 10 yrs ago...This rheumy tends to be very conservative with supplements...he took me off bromelain as well...he does rec fish oil...and Co Q 10...but thats all he rec for me. I would imagine every patient is different tho...My long time rheumy has never prescribed any of the more toxic drugs for me. Altho he did have me on minocin for several years until I developed a lung conditioin. As it happens, my lung condition can be caused by minocin use...cases of OB in patients using minocin for acne...and OB has been seen in RA patients..since I have RA as well as SD...my DR. took me off the minocin immediately!! Hey, if it works for you...thats great! I firmly believe that we all are different and what works for one, may not work for another. Guest guest
Sorry Amy..OB is Obliterative Bronchiolitis...Ob...some call it Bronchiolitis Obliterans...it can go by both...it is the autoimmune reaction of your body destroying itself...it starts, OBLITERATING the bronchiolies in the lungs....they carry oxygen to your body, when they are gone...no amount of oxygen will help you...because your body cannot receive it...fortunately for me...My rheumy ordered a form of chemo for me, Photopheresis...that is used for T cell lymphoma and in Graft Vs. Host disease...when a lung transplant patient rejects...they use photopheresis for them...it stops it...thats what he ordered for me....I finally got my ins co to see things our way....the OB stopped... Sorry I should have explained the OB...D rheumatic Re: Alternative medicine recommendations from Mayo Debbie, Thanks for your comments. what is OB?
