Guest guest
Yes I have heard of people needing JUST Florinef. Try holding the raise for three days. Soimetimes when you are bumping on high enough it takes a few days for the adrenals to get used to it. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HypoPets/
Guest guest
Don't know if this is pertinent, but I had to lower my HC 2.5mgs when I started taking bio-aldosterone. Are you taking slow K for the cramps? Irene > > Strangely, I get a dump with florinef and my temps go up but then I get higher cortisol feelings from it too. I absolutely know that I get cortisol from florinef. I've been taking a bunch of sea salt the last couple of days and all it does is give me leg cramps, so possibly affecting potassium. >
Guest guest
I'm dealing with exactly the same situation.I was on 35mg HC for the last 7 months and definetly I have a high cortisol symptoms that's why I'm lowering the dose.At the same time I can't go over 50mcg T3 and still hypo. I just started the florinef yesterday 1/4 tab in the morning. How long have you been on florinef and on what dose? How much did you lower yor HC after starting the florinef? Also,I wonder did you have a swelling problem or I should say puffy face and if so did florinef helped. You,also are syaing yo get dyzzy for the last 2 weeks I have the sppining head and dyzyness almost constantly and can't figure out what causes it? I'm wondering if it's form the T3 dose because I can't handle it. Thank you Milena > > I can't seem to go above 75mcg. I took 6mcg extra today and I feel more hypo, kind of dizzy, really fatigued. My temps drop with an increase. I know this is supposed to be adrenal. Here's my problem, more cortisol doesn't help, stress dosing doesn't help. If I take more HC, I start to get the same familiar high cortisol symptoms. In fact, I think I am still a little high. > > Strangely, I get a dump with florinef and my temps go up but then I get higher cortisol feelings from it too. I know this is strange but can temps go down if sodium is too low? Does anyone EVER just need florinef. I absolutely know that I get cortisol from florinef. Guest guest
I took 3 bio-aldosterone last summer and cut back to one late fall. I need two again though. I was only able to cut HC 2.5mgs after being on the aldosterone a few weeks. Yes, I have swelling and a puffy face, which I think is mostly still being hypo. With your low blood pressure, I bet you'll have to be on the florinef for a while before you can consider a T3 increase. I know how frustrating it is to be stuck on a thyroid dose that's too low. You'll have to pay close attention to your temps and blood pressure to make sure those adrenals are stable before you can go up, too. I'm not the person who gets dizzy. Does sound like a low aldosterone problem though. Will keep my fingers crossed for you that the Florinef does the trick. Guest guest
Irene. Yes I'm taking 120 meq K-dur and my levels are still low. I am going to re-test Monday before changing anything. My case is weird, when I've lowered florinef and salt, my potassium actually drops so it is doing the opposite of what it is supposed to do. Milena. I've been working on this for a long time. I'll tell you what I know. High cortisol makes you feel spacey, fatigued, drugged/sedated feeling, almost a spinny sensation. In november, I developed swelling, itching/burning, puffy, red face, tremor, and that was what made me realize it was too much cortisol, not low. Problem is, my temps still drop and I can't handle more t3. Stress dosing doesn't help. I was actually on florinef, 1 tab, for a year and quit for a couple of months when I developed obvious high cortisol in November. I lowered my HC to a point where the high cortisol symptoms disappeared. Once again, temps dropped during the day and I felt bad. Adding more HC just brought the high cortisol symptoms back!! So, I added the florinef back in, 1/4 tab ever 3 days. Viola, my temps started going up and I felt better. Unfortunately, the high cortisol came back too and I had to wean some HC again. Florinef has the potency of 10mg HC and some of us do get the full cortisol affect from florinef, some don't get any. Anyway, I think I am one of those people who need more florinef but I also get too much cortisol from it. I used to practically pass out every time I stood up. I still have a high pulse and can't increase t3 w/o feeling more hypo. My last sodium was 3.8 and that was on 1 tab of florinef!! I think I am considering upping florinef and dropping HC until high cortisol feelings resolve. I may be on all florinef at that point, I don't know. My doc says 1 to 2 tabs is normal, so good, he's supportive. What's left to do? In your case, I would continue to up florinef until 1 tab and then wait for 2 weeks and see how you feel. You may or may not be able to lower some HC and hopefully you'll be able to increase T3. Hope this helps. > > > > I'm dealing with exactly the same situation.I was on 35mg HC for the last 7 months and definetly I have a high cortisol symptoms that's why I'm lowering the dose.At the same time I can't go over 50mcg T3 and still hypo.
