Teddy, I could tell a difference within a few DAYS of stopping the T4 medication. It was quite a surprise. Once I started on the T3-only protocol, though, I had several bouts of feeling really really bad, severely hypo, depressed, achy. Looking back, I think I was raising my T3 levels way too slowly.

If I were doing it all over again, I think I'd create a calendar and mark the days when I'm supposed to have an increase, just to make sure I didn't forget. You spread the T3 doses throughout the day, and you increase one dose at a time, so it can be very easy to forget when and which dose you bumped up.

You noted that your adrenals have been tested. Did you do the diurnal saliva test where you collect samples four times in a day, or did your doc do a one-time draw? If it was a one-time blood collection, you may want to spring for a four-time saliva test. With the blood tests, docs are typically looking to see if you have severely low or severely high, plus they can't see if your cortisol levels are working right throughout the day. I had two blood tests that made docs say I was normal (though the folks here said I was low.) When I got my results back on the saliva test, it showed that my first-morning cortisol levels were half of what they should be and that I was much below range on my bedtime cortisol level.

I hope you start to feel some relief and improvement quickly!

make sure Ferritin and adrenals are in place first though> > You may start feeling better inside a few days as you are very hypo> but it will take 12 weeks to clear the resistance properly> > Nick>Ferritin & adrenals have also been tested and are in good shape. That's what is so strange about this. I am athletic and in excellant condition, with ALL other labs well in range. And trust me, I have had everything checked. This is the only explanation I can come up with for nearly two years of feeling terrible.
