Guest guest
Here in Australia the range for Haemoglobin is 115-165. Now my ferritin is really good but I do have low haemoglobin. I take Aranesp shots for it. If I don't it will drop to under 90 in a matter of months. Your kidneys make erythropoietin a protein that stimulates the production of red blood cells. My one transplanted kidney does not make enough erythropoietin. Therefore I take the synthetic version of it which is Aranesp. Technically if I don't take my Aranesp I am anemic. So if your haemoglobin keeps dropping I would look into. I thought they were both measurement of iron? I've been anemic before and craved ice chips ( many years ago) I don't have that now. Am I anemic? What corrects that? Guest guest
This is odd... I am looking at my recent labs and my red blood cell count is in range.. Im still not getting this.. how can my red blood cell count be good, ferritin be good and hemoglobin be low? What am I missing? Should I take iron supplement? If so.. how much? Im going to look thru my previous lab work to check the b-12 levels.. I dont see it on my recent results . Thanks everyone.. Guest guest
It could just be that you have low b12 and Folate. I would not take iron unless you think its a false reading due to inflammation or infection. http://www.mydr.com.au/tests-investigations/full-blood-count-fbc Sky To: RT3_T3 Sent: Sun, 7 March, 2010 6:04:20 AMSubject: Re: recent Labs This is odd...
