I have never seen this doctor but he was really nice to reply to my letter. Many

doctors don't bother replying so I appreciated that. He didn't feel that

antibiotics could help Sjogrens Syndrome or peripheral neuropathy, my letter had

mostly focused on the SS. I appreciated his honesty but I can't begin to tell

anyone how heart wrenching that was to read in his letter. I'd rather anything

in the world happen before I or loved one developed chronic illness. I also

suffer from constant dizziness and osteoarthritis in my jaw since I was 24,

which has caused me constant head, neck and jaw pain. I am 31 now. Anyway I

still take antibiotics for the SS and PA as I have no alternative.

I suggest whomever decides to see him make sure that he feels your particular

disease is treatable with antiobiotics. Its not that he wont RX Mino for a less

common disease, he will.... as will my doctor 5 minutes up the road will too. My

own doctor also doens't believe in AP for me, she doenst know anything about it

nor cares to learn, she is willing to RX anyway, and she is a 5 minute drive.

Problem is, I cant ask her if something is a herx or a bad side effect

indicating I should stop or change doses. Sorry, I digress. Anyway, its

different when a doctor truly believes the meds will help you, in my case

neither my primary nor Dr W. It's a completey different experience for the

patient too, when there is someone experienced that is always positive about

their recovery. Dr W also RX's other antibiotics besides Mino, but those are for

other patients whereas for my disease it would be Mino or Doxy and Plaquenil, he

especially felt Plaq was the way to go, nothing else. No

Zithromax, No Climidacin etc...this is because as I stated above, he doens't

feel it would work apparently for my disease. So just something to consider

before traveling to see him if one suffers from a less common rheumatic

condition.
