Hi ,

I have RA (4 years) and homebound. Been on minocin 20 weeks, LDN 16 and

Lauriciden 18 weeks. I am feeling a little better, but not sure from what

drug/supp....or all 3. I talked to at Lauriciden many times and got real

good info and support. Lauriciden was referred to my sister by a very respected

chiropractor in Illinois, then passed info on to me. Lauriciden is meant to be

an alternative to antibiotics. i felt that adding it to my AP and LDN could

only enhance things. I don't know how long I'll keep taking it, but I like all

the things that it can do. Sally

rheumatic Has anyone ever used Lauricidin?

I was just wondering if anyone of you have ever used Lauricidin - a nutritional

supplement that supposedly has been shown to inactivate microorganisms Under

Laboratory Conditions such as mycoplasma pneumonia (bacteria). It seems as

though this product could 'finish off' any mycoplasma bugs faster than

relying just on your immune system Go to their website, www.lauricidin.com to

get more information. The website does mention herxheimer effect and 'die off.

Under Health Professional Testimonials, there is a comment by a Dr. McCandless

who treats autism with Lauricidin and Low Dose Naltrexone.

I have rheumatoid arthritis and have been taking taking Low Dose Naltrexone

( " LDN " ) and doxycycline since April, 2010. I've seen some improvement but not

as much as I would like. But I will continue with the LDN and doxy -- may

switch to minocycline at a later date.

I am considering trying this product...sounds very promising but wanted some

feed back from the group. Thanks in advance for any responses.

Diane,

any antibiotic will take time to get you well. It is a slow healing process but

the end result is that it works. I have been on two antibiotics now since

January 2008 and doing a lot better. I also take LDN, had to stop for a period

of time because I had to have a hip replaced and some dental work done. I will

be going back again in December then I will be finished with my dental

procedures.

Never heard of Lauricidin, need to check it out.

Not on Lauricidin, but did discover that minocycline has been helping me. About

two months ago I did a round of Augmentin (in the penicillin family) for a tooth

abscess. All my joint pain went away after about 6 days. I finished my 10 days

on it. Had just started mino at the same time. the joint pain slowly came back.

(Dolores, I know you told me that joint pain can't be " cured " in 10 days, but

something happened for me). I just started on a 30-day course of Augmentin (I am

thankful my GP is so willing to assist me in forging my own treatment path). The

first few days I had a horrible headache. I stopped the mino, thinking maybe it

was the combination of the antibiotics. I missed my Friday and Monday doses.

Monday night in bed, my hips and shoulders started aching. I felt so

discouraged. Then I thought that maybe the missed doses of the mino was the

reason. So I got up in the middle of the night and took my 100mg of mino (and

sat up for 30 minutes, as required with this drug). And I am doing better. So I

do believe that the mino is helping me. And as stated in The New Arthritis

Breakthrough, mino also works on the immune system outside of being an

antibacterial, so some results can be seen more quickly. If you are not feeling

any relief, you might consider increasing your dose. I have read that some

people take 100mg twice a day on MWF and others taking 100mg every day.

While I'm on the topic of mino, there has been some been some conversation about

brands of generic minocycline. I have been getting mine from Walmart. My first

prescription was for 50mg and the brand name was . I just got 100mg and

the maker is Ranbaxy. I dowsed and got a " yes " for both of them, and so far so

good. I found these names on my prescription label, if you want to check yours.

I know many people have a problem finding a doctor who will prescribe AP. I

encourage everyone to become established with a general practitioner. I feel

that because I have been with this doctor for 6 years, she is willing to

prescribe what I ask for, as long as she deems it safe. I did ask her for

Benicar, which is called for in the Marshall Protocol. It is a drug to lower

blood pressure but helps with rheumatic infections. My GP wouldn't write me a

prescription for Benicar as my blood pressure that day was 80 over 62. She said

with it that low, it would not be safe for me. Oh well. I just got tested for

Lymes. That came back negative.

I had the opportunity to recline on an amethyst biomat that Sally mentioned.

Ahhhhh. It was an amazing warmth. They do make a mini biomat for $550 that is

large enough for your torso, so it can be used in a chair or bed. I just may

have to order it. You can search mini biomat for dealers.

Lots of love and light and hope to all of you. Amy

Hi Amy,  This is Dolores!  I am learning to never say never!  I was told I

was terminal in 2005 and hey, I'm still here.  If you get relief almost

immediately after taking the antibiotic, who am I to tell you you won't!

Medicine works differently on people, so congratulations that you are finding

relief so fast.  That is wonderful news.  There is nothing as great as being

pain free.  Yes, I agree with you about having a GP write the Rx for an

antibiotic.  Their hands are not as tied up..  Some may not understand the

protocol, and not know what blood work to order, but most will give it a try at

least.  It is the Rheumy's, who never heard of the infectious theory, that have

a hard time going against what they were taught..  Take care, Dolores

Thanks, Eva, for your reply.  Check out the Lauricidin website.  It's very

informative (I hope it's not just  sales hype, however).

Hi Amy,

Thanks for the info.  I currently take doxycycline but may ask for a

minocycline

prescription to replace the doxy.  Check out the Lauricidin website.   It

apparently will take care of not only bacteria, but also viruses, fungus and

yeast, including Candida albicans.  There is a link on their site about which

organisms Lauricidin was effective under laboratory conditions.  I'm not

necessarily promoting this product....just trying to find something that will

perhaps work with LDN and doxy so I can see improvement at a faster pace than

I'm seeing.  I will be discussing Lauricidin with my doc (she practices

integrative, functional medicine).

Diane,

Kudos to you for keeping up the search to reach good health! I agree with the

philosophy of using all the resources and products available to help get to that

point. It is unfortunate that AP does take so long, but it is also a relief that

AP is safe on our bodies and does get us to a cure. Maybe a lesson in patience

is what we are getting. LOL. Health to all who are on the path to achieve it!

Instead of the line from Seinfield, " Serenity Now! " I offer, " Health Now! " LOL.

Just a comment.

Why is it that disease(s) that have taken years to develop, (even though it

seems that they showed up overnight,) should be fixed overnight? That is

unrealistic so hang in there and be patient. After all, Rome was not built in a

day, either.
