Guest guest
Hi, Val, I know if you could yell at me, you would, and I deserve it. Please have mercy on me and tell me what I should do. Here's where I messed up: 1) Assumed ferritin was coming up, didn't check with blood test. 2) Stayed on low dose Armour too long. Basically, I've been working on the iron since last fall. June labs showed a level of 6.94. Since I get horrible migraines and/or heartburn from all (and I mean all) iron supps, I went low dose on the ones I tolerate, added HCl, more red meat, vit C. Some of the low-iron symptoms began to improve (like menstrual bleeding), but looking back, this was probably due to raising my HC. So, I assumed things were getting better, and began Armour. Got to 1 1/2 grains (with average temp of 97.7) and knew I needed to get off my prescription sleep meds. It was 2 1/2 weeks of hell (In December)to get off them, then I got the flu. My hubby stayed home from work for 2 1/2 weeks to take care of me and our girls. I didn't raise Armour for almost 3 weeks. Fast forward...Trying to raise Armour to 1 3/4 didn't bring a temp raise at all. Then, symptoms got horrible. I even started with new Hashi's symptoms. After reading the STTM site, I realize that the Armour was feeding this, so I dropped it. Average temps have plummeted to 97.2, but steady. My joints are killing me. I almost can't walk due to swelling and pain in my knees. Brain fog and fatigue are almost unbearable. With two little ones, I have to be able to function. I did get a ferritin last week....It is a big, whopping 6. So, what should I do? I am considering going to T3 for a while to do an end-run around the ferritin problem. I have some time-release T3 left from my 's Protocol. I did that without the benefit of HC, so I think it would work better this time. I'm also expecting my cytomel any day, so I could do a high-dose thing like Dr. Lowe recommends. I know I've got to get the ferritin up....will be working on this as a priority. What do you think about the T3? Will it make me worse? Sorry so long. Feeling chastised already,
