Guest guest
Hi Alia, I probably don't have the best answers but I will tell you from all that I have read, some women find pregnancy urticaria free and others don't. I hope others will jump in here and tell you of their personal stories. I do know that a few have said that the hives were at a minimal wonderful low while pregnant and came back with vengence after delivery ( I personally don't know of any research that has been done to support that there is a chance you can pass it on to your child. I will say however, that I know of a family that have over a hundred members with CU, maybe isolated case??? If it does not run in either of your families then I seriously doubt you would pass it on. LOL I didn't help a bit did I? Oh well I tried. Love, ~Alena's Mom who sometimes knows what she is talking about. ;o) Second Child > Hi all, > > We were thinking of having a second child, we were going to aim for > him/her being due sometime after my senior year of college (I'm > starting that now). Guest guest
Hi Alia, Although my hives are not from cold, I have had them on and off for 37 years, and have had two hive free pregnancies. One of my sons is 18, the other 15, and (knock on wood), neither of them has ever shown any allergy at all. They both have my husband's blood type, and favor his side, so I'm hoping they never have to deal with this. I know there is never a guarantee, but thought you might like this history to add to your decision making process. I will also add that although I come from a family of highly allergic folks, I am the only one who has ever had chronic hives. I hope you will go for another child - I would hate for hives to stop you, but understand your concern! Kathy
Guest guest
Alia, I have posted several times about my experience w/hives during pregnancy so I won't bore everyone else again with all the details. Mine were much better and I was on minimal medication. I don't know if hives are hereditary, but my husband and I had a terrible scare back in January when our son was 4 months old and he broke out in hives all over his body. He has a reaction to either Penicillin or peaches, but we are not sure which. He has not had either since then. We thought he was headed toward chronic hives, but thankfully he has not had hives since. I pray he never will. I am the only one in my famil that I know if who has this problem. My grandmother (maternal) gets occasional hives when she gets out of the shower (this is according to my mother, my grandmother never told me this so I am not sure how true it is). Good luck. > Hi all, > > We were thinking of having a second child, we were going to aim for > him/her being due sometime after my senior year of college (I'm > starting that now).
