Guest guest
I take coconut oil. I take it to acquire the healthy fat and for yeast control. It doesn't stimulate me. > > Does anyone know if it is okay to consume coconut oil with rT3 issues? I thought we are suppose to have our thyroid suppressed as much as possible and since coconut oil stimulates it, I don't know if it would be a good idea to take it or not. > > >
Guest guest
THanks for posting this. I have coconut oil every day because of all of the health benefits. I had not read about its effect on thyroid but just did a search after reading your message and did find some info about it " boosting " thyroid (in a positive way they say). I don't know if the info is true but as I have a bad RT3 issue I will stop using it just in case it is detrimental. When I first started coconut oil (before I even knew I had a thyroid or an RT3 problem) I noticed within a few week that the skin on the back of my hands went from snake skin to soft and smooth. If I stopped it for awhile, the dry, flaky skin always came back. I wasn't applying it to my skin but drinking it in a cup of hot water. I wonder if it was somehow effecting my thyroid? I always thought it was just somehow replenishing my dried out skin. Very interesting. But, I'm not going to use it anymore for now. Thanks again for posting that. > > Does anyone know if it is okay to consume coconut oil with rT3 issues? Guest guest
If it's helping, maybe you should keep taking it. It is suppose to be good for the thyroid however, with a rT3 issue, I thought we were suppose to suppress our thyroid and not have any T4 producing from it, so I didn't know if it would be good to take c.o. in the meantime. Val, do you know the answer? I would sure hate to stop taking it if it's not necessary. > > > > Does anyone know if it is okay to consume coconut oil with rT3 issues?
