Guest guest
Georgina, Thank you so much for the information on Rheumatoid nodules. This helps me to understand it a little more. Hopefully she won't get more and this one will go away soon. It's really odd because it's not on a joint, it's more on the side of her leg. After reading this I now know that they can pop up just about anywhere. Thanks again. ________________________________________________________________ YOU'RE PAYING TOO MUCH FOR THE INTERNET! Guest guest
Yes Marilyn; this is Melt and I had them all along the palms of both hands right off in the early years. Since then I have a couple more on one foot. The large toe and the top of the foot. When they were building up they were very painful but not any longer unless traumatised as said. The ones on the tendons of my hands are not near as feelable as they used to be. Thanks for all your typing info for us today, very interesting. Guest guest
I had nodules early on in my illness (about 25 years ago), but they went away once we got the RA under control. When MTX stopped working for me a few years ago, I got new nodules on my left hand. My RA is now under control with Enbrel and they have all disappeared. n [ ] nodules Has anyone developed RA nodules and later had them shrink or go away? I see new ones developing on my feet and fingers and hope they don't get the size of two of my first ones near my elbows. I take methotrexate injections, folic acid, and salsalate now. Guest guest
Betty, sometimes MTX can be responsible for new nodules. There is a phenomenon termed " methotrexate nodulosis. " There have been several stories here in the group about regression of the nodules (either from the RA itself or from RA + MTX) with the right treatment. This is something you should discuss with your physician. I'll tell you where to go! Guest guest
Hello AJ! My daughter gets nodules in her elbows and back of her feet. She also gets them in her thumb, where the joing is. She tells me that they don't hurt. To me they feel like pepples under her skin. The dr says not to worry about them, but I do anyways. I really hope Holly gets feeling better! Guest guest
Betty, I had nodules on my elbows, but they disappeared sometime after I started Enbrel. Just recently I've noticed a possible nodule on the middle knuckle of my right index finger. It looks like a callous, but I haven't done anything to cause a callous there. It doesn't feel hard and bony like the ones on my elbows did. I think I've read that methotrexate can sometimes cause nodules. You should discuss it with your rheumy. Guest guest
I also have had nodules disappear on my arms where I would rest them on a desk when working. The ones on hands and feet had to be removed surgically and have been removed several times and I have about 10 on my feet right now that will eventually need to be removed. Just went through that less than a year ago on left foot and the dr miss one on my heel. At some point it will have to go. Right now my main concern are my artifical joints in my hands. Really flared up. On a dose pack of predisone and pain meds. My Remicade infusion isn't until Feb 24. Hope it does some good this time dr uping the dose.
