Guest guest
Okay, I have been on 25 mcg of Cytomel split into 4 doses throughout the day. So far I am not noticing any of the hyper things others, nor does it seem I am having adrenal crashes so that is good. Nor have I had any real good changes either so I am not sure yet if it is doing anything. Some side effects: 1) Headaches on my 4th dose of the day and sometimes earlier. Nothing severe, just a slight one in the back of the head. 2) A feeling of a sinus infection after taking a dose. 3) This is the biggest complaint. My throat gets scratchy and a little painful after a dose, much like it does when I get very hypo. Odd that it only occurs after a dose and lasts about an hour to 2 hours. The only thing I have found to relieve it is eating some kombu. This has me thinking. Does T3 require enough iodine in the body to work properly? I am wondering if this is the case and that is why the throat issue and why eating kombu relieves it. I know I am iodine deficient ongoing, but this reaction and the fact that something in Kombu helps with the reaction has me confused. I started at a low dose (5 mcg) and have worked my way up. The symptoms really aren't any different from the low dose to the higher and nothing so severe to make me stop but I am just wondering what you think of them and if there is something I can do? Since I am not getting any great benefit yet, I imagine I am going to have eventually go a lot higher on my dosage. Hair is still falling out like crazy. In fact, I would say it is much worse since starting cortisol replacement. One thing that did happen this month, while I had no PMS like I normally do, on day 3 or my period I started getting depression and weird symptoms and my temps dropped from averaging around 98.4 to 98 and have not come up since. I normally start feeling a lot better by day 3 or 4 of my cycle and this month it was the opposite. I also got thigh and shin pain like I would get when I was very estrogen dominant. I don't get it. My labs keep showing progesterone super high and estrogen normal but my symptoms are saying the opposite so I am just confused. Thanks for any perspective you can give.
