interesting - I did 4 dose dense AC treatments. I thought there was a

lifetime dosage of Adriamycin you could do. I wonder if the 6 treatments

have lower dosage.

My onc said I was stage one (2 tumors together 1.05cm); otherwise like

you - no nodes, no vascular invasion, but otherwise all those other

symptoms of aggressive tumor (grade 3, etc)

I am 76, diabetic (LADA), and have several autoimmune problems. I was

hoping this subject was not as complicated as diabetes. At this point

it looks like it is. I will be reading a lot but have to learn enough

to ask reasonable questions. My history with diabetes has made me watch

doctors with a critical eye. I am proactive and maintain as much

control as possible. That requires me to learn as much as possible and

it looks like this is the place to do it. Reading so far I see many

symptoms that could be thyroid related, many of which I had attributed

to age or diabetes. Some I was looking for answers to.

Thanks for your help.

Hi Betty

1) You need your adrenals tested. Here is the test

http://www.canaryclub.org/diurnal-cortisol-4x-zrt.html

2) Get a ferritin level done. If you have a result already and it is lower than 70 start taking some iron. This is a good iron to take

http://www.iherb.com/Chelated-Iron-90-Vcaps/11571?at=0

http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ferritin/

3) Test for TSH, FREE t4, FREE T3, REVERSE T3, Thyroid Antibodies. Now if you have a reverse t3 problem you would only take t3 to clear it. Like the rest of us on this group.

Here is Nick's site for more information

http://thyroid-rt3.com/

If you don't have a problem then you could take Naturethroid (desiccated thyroid)

You might have trouble with your doc getting some of the tests but there are private labs that will do them.

4) Here is some of the additional tests you will need, VitD, Vit B12, Sodium, Potassium.

5) Always get copies of labs. When posting to the group make sure you post your lab results with ranges.

Let me try this again. The explanation is simple. I can't type! Or

maybe I can't think!

FREE T3 220.00 (202-443)

FREE T4 1.3 (0.7-1.9)

T4 5.8 (4.0-12.8)

TSH H 4.90 (0.3-4.2)

TOTAL T3 L 69 (70-170)

IRON 53 (37-145)

UNSAT IRON BIND CAPA 149 (110-370-

TOTAL IRON BINDING L202 (228-428)

% SATURATD IRON 26

POTASSIUM 4.0 (3.5-5.3)

Pulse is almost always fast 95-100 +- at rest. Rarely it is in the 70s

Sodium My GP says eat more salt. The kidney people say salt is a

kidney killer. I don't have edema or uncontrolled blood pressure.

Ferriten has been checked several times this year. It was low. The

iron infusion brought it up and it is slowly going down again.

The above values are from records I have from 3 doctors, Rheumatologist,

Nephrologist, and GP

One more thing. For almost 2 years I have very slowly loosing weight.

I have gastroparaesis, a digestive disorder causing vomiting and other

nice things. I became " underweight and added calories as I could. That's

not all bad, beats fighting overweight. But for the last 4 or so months

I started gaining weight. My BMI is 20 which puts it in the lower half

of normal. But I am afraid now that I will continue to gain. I have

tightened up my calories. I wonder if this is a message from my thyroid.

Thanks for all your help

OK Cutting calories will cause RT3 to become WORSE. Low carb (Aorund 70G

daily) is the best thing you can do for your weight and Diabetes. You

need unrefined Sea Salt! It will lower your pulse and help your body

fiunction better. I like Celtic Grey Sea Salt and add it to all the

water I drink every day and it tastes wonderful. I also only use thta

for salt at home on foods. It surely is the thyroid causing your weight

gain. Through tweaking my hormones and optimizing them, I have reduced

my insulin by 3/4 what I started with! But it has been a process fixing

one then another, but it is impressive what just a few hormones and some

minerals have done for me.

Your FT3 is very low and your RT3 is very high. I suggest you join the

RT3 group in my siganture lines as we can best help you there. You

definitely DO havea thyroid problem. You need ot have a full iron panle

including Ferritin as well as saliva cortisol.
