Guest guest
i guess i want to focus my post down to a few questions: how much iron per day if my ferritin is that low? how much T3 do you think per day? why did i have high temps, but still very hypo? how do i tell him i dont want sustained release T3, and then where do most people get their cytomel? also, just wondering, while titrating up the T3 and during the RT3clearing-out-process, do most people still feel hypo, or is the aim to feel " normal " and then add T3 to eliminate hypo symptoms? Ferritin comes up slowly > >how much T3 do you think per day? > Depends what you are coming from and how you react to it http://thyroid-rt3.com/dosing.htm is a guide Your labs are a bit screwy > >Ft3= 2.8pg/ml(2.0-4.4) >Rt3= 253pg/ml(90-350) >tsh=.009 >Ft4=.9ng/dl(0.82-1.77) Your TSH is too low for the FT3 and FT4. by FT3 you are very hypo/ This may well be the ferritin stopping things getting into the cells and you may have trouble until you can get that up >why did i have high temps, but still very hypo? Infection?? > >how do i tell him i dont want sustained release T3, and then where do most people get their cytomel? A lot of us buy Cynomel (Spanish spelling) from Mexico. It's cheap and good. If you decide to go that route ask and I will send you a source privately >also, just wondering, while titrating up the T3 and during the RT3clearing-out-process, do most people still feel hypo, or is the aim to feel " normal " and then add T3 to eliminate hypo symptoms? Looking at your labs you ought to be able to clear the RT3 while not feeling very hypo. Your ratio is bad but because the Ft3 is low rather than the RT3 through the roof. Guest guest
hi nick, thanks for the help... on this past tuesday, i started at 30mcg of generic cytomel (goldshield stuff)... i split it up 10mcg three times per day. it comes in 20mcg tabs but they are teeny tiny, so it'd be hard to split them up further. well, by wednesday and esp thursday i felt so so good. on friday during the majority of the day i felt great, then towards the evening i really hit a tired wall. and then on sat (yesterday) i woke up so so so bloated and groggy... my hands, face and tummy were holding onto so much water, and still are. and this morning i woke up with foot and wrist pain and a headache. now, i have never really been able to differentiate those symptoms as specifically adrenal or hypoT... i'd guess they are more hypoT. so i'm not sure what my next move would be... stay put at 30mcg, or add another dose? could you offer your advice on raising in this instance. (i just took my bp, twas 102/75 with a heart rate of 83... so it was a tad off.. typically before i switched from westhroid, it was at about 120-125/70 with a heart rate of 65-69. i guess the good news is that it seemed to stay the same and not drop terribly when i took it again upon standing. anyway, i ramble) second question: can i just ask him to call in a prescription to a local pharmacy for cytomel... is that something they typically have? > > >i guess i want to focus my post down to a few questions: > > > >how much iron per day if my ferritin is that low? > > 150 to 200 of elemental iron a day is the usual recommendation. > Ferritin comes up slowly > > > >how much T3 do you think per day? > > > Depends what you are coming from and how you react to it > > http://thyroid-rt3.com/dosing.htm is a guide > > Your labs are a bit screwy > > > > >Ft3= 2.8pg/ml(2.0-4.4) > >Rt3= 253pg/ml(90-350) > >tsh=.009 > >Ft4=.9ng/dl(0.82-1.77) > > > Your TSH is too low for the FT3 and FT4. by FT3 you are very hypo/ > > This may well be the ferritin stopping things getting into the cells > and you may have trouble until you can get that up > > >why did i have high temps, but still very hypo? > > Infection?? > > > >how do i tell him i dont want sustained release T3, and then where do most people get their cytomel? > > A lot of us buy Cynomel (Spanish spelling) from Mexico. Either hypo or adrenal as you say. After 3 days it's long enough for your own body to compensate and reduce it's own thyroid output so an increase may be in order. What's your temperature doing, that may give a clue if it's adrenal or thyroid. Guest guest
k, i am good about doing my temps mon-fri only because i have an office job where i sit all day and its easy to do. sat and sun unfortunately i never have a regular schedule (sleep late) and dont stay put long enough to get three temps for averages. going by how i am feeling now after adding an extra dose of T3 yesterday, i feel like it was mainly hypo... i feel alright as of now and will maintain that extra dose, and get my temp averages going again tomorrow. do regular pharmacies carry name-brand Cytomel, with dr scripts of course, ?? otherwise i may go the cynomel route... thanks so much nick! > > >on this past tuesday, i started at 30mcg of generic cytomel (goldshield stuff)... i split it up 10mcg three times per day. it comes in 20mcg tabs but they are teeny tiny, so it'd be hard to split them up further. > >well, by wednesday and esp thursday i felt so so good. on friday during the majority of the day i felt great, then towards the evening i really hit a tired wall. and then on sat (yesterday) i woke up so so so bloated and groggy... my hands, face and tummy were holding onto so much water, and still are. and this morning i woke up with foot and wrist pain and a headache. now, i have never really been able to differentiate those symptoms as specifically adrenal or hypoT... i'd guess they are more hypoT. > > Either hypo or adrenal as you say. Guest guest
Yes Cytomel is available from most any pharmacy in the USA with a script. It can be expensive though. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HypoPets/

Guest guest
My US pharmacy carries name-brand Cytomel, but even with insurance, Cynomel from Mexico is much cheaper. > > > > >do regular pharmacies carry name-brand Cytomel, with dr scripts of course, ?? otherwise i may go the cynomel route... > >thanks so much nick! > > I don't know what the stock levels are like in the US > > Nick >
