Guest guest
Thanks for the tips Melody. Oh my gosh you went through hell with that didn't you?????? How horrible. I remember hearing about that recall. I am finally feeling better. I think things are getting back to normal. I do have some citracel I am taking everyday now to help regulate things. It is suppose to just make you even out and prevent both constipation and diarrhea. I cannot prove it, but I will always believe it was food poisoning. I felt fine that day, then it came on so suddenly about 2 hours or so after eating mcdonlads dollar menu double cheeseburgers. Most food poisoning takes 12 to 36 hours to kick in.... except staphylococcus. It may have been staph. It could have been from improper handwashing from someone who had a respiratory infection and then touched my food. I just know that I have never been through anything quite like it. Thanks so much, love and hugs, Debra V. --------------------------------- Never miss a thing. Make Yahoo your homepage.
Guest guest
Luckily I never did throw up. I'm a bit phobic about throwing up so I'll fight it as hard as I can. I just felt so extremely nauseous at times, and my stomach acid production seemed to quadruple. I was on Prilosec at the time, but was taking 150mg of Zantac before bed, then when I woke up in the morning. I wonder if the extra acid was my body's way of trying to kill the bacteria but the acid is what made me feel so icky. Then I couldn't eat, every bite of food had me feeling sick, and the thought of eating grossed me out. I thought I'd feel that way forever, I'm glad I finally switched peanut butters. I did pray, and then I had this weird sugar crash, which I don't have blood sugar problems. That guided me to think I needed to cut down on the sugar in my diet, so that is what guided me to switch peanut butters. I still didn't know what was wrong with all of that until months later when they started talking about tainted peanut butter. I thought " wow. That explains it! " And of course I'm like you, I couldn't prove it. I threw those jars away ages ago. I'm glad you're feeling better. I think that type of food poisoning is what happens when you eat spoiled food, it comes on much quicker. Or like you said some idiot didn't wash their hands. I'm overly cautious about eating out as it is, I rarely do because I just don't trust strangers to handle my food. Which Mcdonalds? Aren't you in TX? I always forget who else is a fellow Texan, and I want to know which Mcs to avoid. debra van ness wrote: > Thanks for the tips Melody. > Oh my gosh you went through hell with that didn't you?????? Guest guest
Melody, you and I are a LOT alike!! I can deal with almost anything except throwing up!! I, too, do everything in my power to avoid it. If I can't, I begin crying like a baby!! To me, it is worse than all the pain and other symptoms from my conditions combined!! I have ALWAYS been this way. I got absolutely NO sympathy from my mother when I would act like this. She would just say something like, 'Big deal. You had something in your tummy you needed to get out. Now you should feel better...get over it!!' Of course, not these EXACT words, but you know what I mean. I can't help it, throwing up just devastates me. I wonder if there was somesort of trama I experienced when I was very young that would account for it? Oh well, I have spent lots of energy over the years to avoid it!! Peace and Love Caroline > Luckily I never did throw up. I'm a bit phobic about throwing up so > I'll fight it as hard as I can. Guest guest
You are so not alone! About a year and a half, I discovered that there is a term for that, it's called emetophobia. If you do a google search for that, you will find tons of information as well as knowledge that even famous people have it. s, Matt Lauer, etc. I found three support groups for others like me and it's really helped me overcome a lot of this phobia. It is still there but it doesn't control me as much as it used to. At first it can be a bit scary talking about it, but these groups have really helped me plus there are so many others, and I spent my whole life thinking I was the only one. I'd be glad to pass on any links if you need. Hugs, Melody Caroline Witte wrote: > Melody, you and I are a LOT alike!! I can deal with almost anything except throwing up!!
