Both iron and calcium are slwoly absorbed and interfere with literally

everything that are taken wiht so the do need ot be 4 hours away from

each other and thyroid. It si difficult! Maybe iron IV's would be a

solution to at least the iron problem?

Thanks, Val. Yes, I'll be talking to my doc about IV's tomorrow, because juggling all the difference supplements is too much hassle. Meanwhile, I've finally gotten Cytomel to replace SR, so I was able to dose sublingually this a.m. So at least nothing should be interfering with the T3. I won't be able to take iron 4 hours away from every calcium dose, though, because I have to take calcium 3 times a day since I have osteoporosis.

My vitamin D levels are high enough that my doctor has just suggested I decrease from 5000 IU per day to 3000 IU per day. I'm having this retested in a month, when I retest T3, RT3, etc.

Re: for Nick re calcium & iron

How is your Vitamin D? That seems to be just as important as calcium if not more so with osteo.

What were the actual numbers? Drs and ranges sometimes leave a bit to

be desired.

You are looking for at least 50 on Vitamin D

My vitamin D level is 53.2 in a range of 32-100. So it is at least 50. But I recently decided, after reading a lot about the importance of vitamin D, to go ahead and raise my daily intake back up to 5000 IU. Sound about right?

Yes My vitamin D is at 100 and that is where I am keeping it after this

winter. This si the first winter in over 15 years I have not had

Bronchitis. I did get th esinus bug that is going around, btu usually

that would have insured vbronchitis or pneumonia and it never went into

my lungs this year. I attribute this to good D levels and taling toins

of ALA which detoxes lungs.

I would regard that as a minimum year round supplement level and

increase my own to 10,000 in the winter when I am not getting out in

the sun

I think 10,000 is something like 20 minutes in the sun with a

reasonable amount of skin exposed.

50 is regarded as the minimum level to be at for Vitamin D.
