Guest guest
Prednisone and prednisilone are the same some docs generalize and call all of them cortisone. They are not specific pain pills. What it does is take down the inflammation for a while which will give you some relief. It does not last tho. Different people build back the imflamation at different speeds. It will make you feel better all over till it is not working anymore. Now if your doc orders cortisone or Cortef pills that is different. Bilateral means both knees. I do not think they would do them at the same time since you would not have a leg to stand on (tee hee just a little humor there). People do not have damage once the AP kicks in. Some have damage starting before AP kicks in and they think it is not working but AP can't stop the damage that started before it was started. I have had no damage since starting. I do have a few deformaties from before I started. There is nothing that stops damage except AP. cooky _____ From: rheumatic [mailto:rheumatic ] On Behalf Of mumpup2000 Sent: Monday, August 25, 2008 10:57 PM rheumatic Subject: rheumatic /prednisolone, cortisone, prednisone? Thanks for this . It can be hard to figure drugs out. What does a bilateral replacement mean ? Different to regular knee replacement? i'm glad your hubby is enjoying his new life. I'm so looking forward to getting new knees. I can hardly walk any more. I found out that joint damage has occured for some, while on AP, so i must be alert and keep up to date on x-rays etc... monitoring joint damage something i wouldn't have thought to do. Actually, i never thought to do it full stop, even before AP! I thought my " natural measures " were keeping things in check, but I was severely deluded. take care, Leonie _
Guest guest
My husband had bilateral (both knees ), and he thought it was the only way to go because you get it over it with and don't have to go through it again. After a week in rehab, he could walk with a cane and soon without one. There is pain in recovery, but since there is so much BEFORE, pain that will lead to relief in the end is acceptable. I am glad Cooky says that AP stops degeneration, and I plan to ask Dr Whitman all about it--for myself as well as for you (and all of us) when I see him. You seem to keep your spirits up, and I admire that. Sometimes I get very down. Best wishes, On Aug 25, 2008, at 10:57 PM, mumpup2000 wrote: > Thanks for this .
