Guest guest
Hi It's great that you've started. Some people see results quickly, others slowly, some very slowly but most people (80% according to the research articles) are positively affected by the antibiotic therapy. Personally, I did the natural way for quite a while before the antibiotics and have continued some of the supplements. I really have not much idea what works and what doesn't as far as the RA goes but my general health seems better with natural rather than synthetic vitamins. At present I take vitamin C (500mg) the B vitamins, extra B6 (200mg), vitamin E, calcium and magnesium, fish oil, acidophilus (50 billion a day). I took many more supplements and experimented with cutting them down or out and seeing what made a difference. Diet makes a huge difference but everyone is different with their sensitivities so it's a matter of trial and error. Also, many RA people have gluten sensitivity (leaky gut syndrome) so cutting out gluten (barley, rye, oats, wheat) is important for them. I have yeast, thyroid and hormonal issues as well and I think it's a common thing with RA, especially as we age. The antibiotics aren't good for yeast (candida) so I sometimes have to have nystatin and diflucan to control it, and never fail to take acidophilus daily in large amounts. Keep asking questions and researching for yourself. What works for some people doesn't work for others. Good luck, Ros
