Guest guest
Hi mumpup and others! Sally here in Little Rock- I've been on methotrexate since '06 and Antibiotic therapy (AP) since '99. I made the mistake of getting off, cutting way back on my AP early this year and got a sinus infection that I could not get rid of-methotrexate (Mx) is a chemo and like virtually all the standard RA Treatments it is an immunosuppressant. I did great on Mx when I was on my AP-if I got an infection I'd just go get stronger or disease specific antibiotics from my GP and get OFF the Mx until the infection had cleared. Do NOT stay on Mx with an active infection-it could and often does, develop into a super infection. So, keep your beautiful son on AP and that will keep infections at bay and/or easier to control. I'm finally back on both Mx and AP and am in much less pain, thank Heavens. Good luck, everybody! Guest guest
Hi Sallie, I'm glad AP and metho works for you. I read on the website not to take AP and metho together as the metho can't get metabolised properly and you can get an overly toxic buildup of metho. Obviously it doesn't bother you though, with any adverse side effects ??
