Confused and Hurt

Okay...first of all thanks to everyone who has given me some kind

encouragment with this vomiting issue... My problem here is that everyone is

telling me that it is the food that is making me sick and I agree to a

POINT. As I said in my post...I TOLERATED the pizza just fine the night

before. I did not eat or drink b-4 or after for at least a 1/2 hr. The

next day I made a mistake by eating the pizza and drinking MILK at the same

time. That is when I got sick. Again...I tolerated the tortillos with

salsa the night b-4 and the next day when I tried them with CHEESE DIP I got

sick again...Here I am getting blasted for WHAT I am eating and no one is

looking at the fact that some of the food has NOT bothered me...I have seen

a pattern here in the fact that it is the dairy products that are bothering

me. I know what Dr Rutledges manuel says...I have read it over and over

again. It also says that days 10-14 are the puree stage and that some

people choose to move a little more quickly from this to the reg foods. I

had not been sick one TIME until the day that I had that slice of cheese!

Cheese is not forbidden and I ate it one day ahead of the 10 day mark! I

guess I was upset enough already and when I got some of these responses I

felt like I was a little child being punished! I sat here and cried AGAIN

and became even more depressed. Maybe you all are stronger than me I don't

know. All I know is that everyone focused in on the pizza and did not pay

attention to the fact that I tolerated It the night b-4 with NO problems

what so ever. I just want you all to know that I LOVE this group dearly, but

I am really hurt right now. I thought I was doing what was RIGHT FOR ME!

That was adding some food with some substance b/c I literally felt like I

would fall over somewhere. I guess I screwed up. Maybe this was not the

thing for me. Maybe I am just too weak. Who knows.

>Hi ,

>I hope your are taking everyone's advice about the foods you are to be

>eating

>at such an early stage. I am on the same diet as Dr. R's for my open RNY.

>Keep in mind the tender areas on your insides from you surgery. Would you

>want a bunch of rough stuff rubbing over a sutured cut on your arm? I also

>think one of your problems it that the food you were experimenting with is

>some of the hardest to digest for those even 6 months or more out. We have

>people in our support group up here in Alaska who are still having problems

>digesting white bread like your pizza crust. They say it just lumps up in

>your stomach. I don't recall what size Dr. R makes your new pouch, but I

>do

>know my is only 20cc's, or less than an ounce. That is smaller than the

>measuring cup you get with over-the-medicine. I am sure your " 3 bites of

>pizza " filled your pouch up too. I have also heard that people even a year

>out can still have problems digesting beef. They have to stick with

>chicken,

>turkey, and beef. And, salad vegetables are way off limits for me for

>several more months. And one more thing, you have to spend the first 6

>months of maximum weight loss " getting right with food. " You can gain back

>some weight after surgery. It is not a cure all, it is a tool to be used

>wisely. I don't mean to sound harsh, but you have to take better care of

>yourself. Your life could depend on it. Please read Dr. R's post-op diet

>again. Maybe you need to go back to clear liquids for a few days to help

>your stomach heal. And, when you get a chance go to this site and check it

>out. I hope it will help.
