Guest guest
Hi Sohelia, After I read this post, I realize why you want to go on such a drug. Did Dr. Whitman prescribe this? I am very surprised he would. He must feel like he is against the wall. I really believe that your state of sadness is what is interfering with your healing. I think you must get serious about reversing that and ease up a bit on yourself. You never speak of things you like to do. What are your hobbies, pleasures, and things you'd like to do in the future? Or now? Do you have friends? Get together regularly? How about listening to music, painting, sketching, photographing. Reading, Going to a gym, Seeing a play! Taking a long walk in Central Park weather permitting.. Renting comedy movies and watching them at home. You need to make an effort to reverse the sadness. I think that is # 1, Try it. Think of it as therapeutic enjoyment.~~~~~Love, Dodo soheila A <soadl80@...> wrote: Hi lynne As you know my Dr. prscribed Medrol 2 mg 4 days a week to lower my inflammation. my ESR is high 120. I thought it is not a bad idea because i read high inflammtion doesn't allow minocin to penetrate cells. anyway last nightI took my first medrol and I got up with less pain and less stiffness. My hands are no puffy right now. wow I didn't know a low dose of steroid can make a big difference. I don't like to take steroid because of side effects. my Dr. also doesn't like it. I am going to take it only 3 days a week. I hope it helps me to put on some weight. what do you think? By the way you do lots of work. I couldn't do such amonth of work even when I was healthy. like you I always followed a healthy diet, did excersize. no smoking and drinking but I was not a happy person. I didn't realize the most important thing is my health. enjoy the weekend soheila __________________________________________________________ Looking for last minute shopping deals? Guest guest
It's ok to feel sad, it's one of the many emotions all animals feel sometimes. Those with chronic diseases surely have earned the right to intensely feel a range of emotions. My emotions have been like a roller coaster ever since I became sick. My husband has been so good about accepting and supporting me during my lows. By now he knows it doesn't take long before the highs are back again anyway. Peace, Vegan Hi lynne > > As you know my Dr. prscribed Medrol 2 mg 4 days a week > to lower my inflammation. my ESR is high 120. > I thought it is not a bad idea because i read high > inflammtion doesn't allow minocin to penetrate cells. > anyway last nightI took my first medrol and I got up > with less pain and less stiffness. Guest guest
I read Sohelia's story and I am sorry she feels so down, yes one must work on being happy. I have a great support group of friends that help me when I need it, sometimes it helps if you can talk to someone and unload, even if it is an e-mail. I sing in a German choir here in Houston, TX, go to another one once a month in Austin, TX and meet with many German singers throughout the year. Members of my church are great and I belong to a Prayer Shawl group. We knit and crochet for shut-ins, sick people and anyone that's needs lifting up their spirit. With a decease like we all have we need a good support group to stay positive. Sohelia, if you need to talk , you can send me always an e-mail and I will listen to you and maybe help just talking with you. Take care, Eva mike rosner <martysfolks2004@...> wrote: Hi Sohelia, After I read this post, I realize why you want to go on such a drug. Did Dr. Whitman prescribe this? I am very surprised he would. Guest guest
To me, this sounds like blaming the person with the illness, shaming them for 'choosing' the 'bad' feeling. We get too much of that from others who don't truly understand, or who are uncomfortable allowing others space and rights to be who they truly are, to feel how they truly feel. It's ok to be sad. To feel sad, happy, mad, etc. is to be fully human. True supporters accept your feelings, all your feelings. They listen and try to understand. Your intentions are obviously pure. I just want people to know this is a space where they are truly accepted as they are.
