Hi Val or Nick,

Hoping you can help me here to understand my temp pattern.

I was prescribed T3 by my doctor with dosing instructions to take 10mcg at say

6am and then take 10mcg 5 hours later.

Which I know now MUST be wrong dosing as it is Slow Release,on further reading

better dosing would be 12hrs apart, Yes?

Before starting meds, my basal temps [that's all I was taking at that point]

were:

36.3 pulse 68

36.4 64

36.1 68

36.2 64

1st day of T3

6am dose basal temp was 36.3 pulse 67

11am dose temp was 36.8 pulse 76

2nd day

6am dose basal temp 36.1 pulse 68

11am dose temp not taken pulse 76

from 2.30pm onwards tired but jittery with heart pounding, instructed by doctor

to cut out the 11am dose next day.

3rd day

6am dose temp 36.3 pulse 64

by 7.30 -8am felt better

9.30am intermittent heart pounding.

No 11am dose, later heart pounding decreasing but still noticeable until next

day,

decided not to continue with Tx at that point.

Since then I have been keeping more of a record of my temps,BP & Pulse

The previous basal's were taken underarm.

But for convenience I switched to under tongue, I am getting the pattern of low

early ranging from 36.1 to 36.5 rising to 37.0 during the middle of the day and

falling at night, now I assume that this is a correct pattern, but what I would

like to know is really how many times should it be taken to get an accurate

average, as I could see that the average could quite easily be manipulated by

the time of day it is taken, are there any set times to give the correct

average, I can see that if you take it early am and late pm, plus one during the

middle of the day you are always going to get a low average.

How low and how high should the normal range of temps be?

Can you explain further?

Thanks

Sandy
