I did send a very lengthy message to Oprah. I wished I had saved it.

But in general I pointed out that Dr. Ornish's program " may " be

beneficial for some individuals, in some situations. But, because is

it so extreme, it should be considered a medical treatment, only to

be entered into under the care and monitoring of a health care

professional and not to be casually prescribed to the general

population and never ever to anyone under age 18. It is extremely

dangerous to children, especially young children. I pointed out that

any knowledgeable health care professional (oops, guess I screwed up

here) knows that mother's breast milk is very high in fat and

cholesterol which is needed for early childhood development. (I also

pointed out that before the 20th century it was very common practice

to suppliment a child's nutrition with breast milk up to age 5). I

told them I was very concerned those opinions contrary to Dr. Ornish

had been removed from their message boards and that especially the

warning to the mother wanting to put her one-year-old child on the

program had been removed. I asked if they wished to be responsible

for the permanent damaged that would be done to the child's health,

growth and development.

Doesn't your email client save outgoing messages?

Yes, but they used a web based form to receive e-mail. I didn't have

an option to use my e-mail client.

Alec -

You put it very well. Thankyou for taking the time to help those who

are innocent victims of this misinformation. I have written a few

more responses on her bulletin board, 1 of which was quickly removed,

the other 2 survive, I think because I submitted them Friday evening

and they removed my more recent one Monday morning. I think they

missed the " inbetween ones " I am going to keep checking.
