Guest guest
Great! Txs for the additional info, . Does anyone know of a person with SLE who has been treated successfully by Dr Whitman? I have tried 2 AP doctors in the DC area - both have told me AP would not be the way to go because I have SLE instead of RA (Dr. Mirkin was one of those, before he retired a few months ago). So I'm pretty discouraged and Dr. Whitman will likely be my last try. I'm a single mom and can't afford to do more travelling around the country to find a doctor that will treat me. I'm praying he can give me some hope! Jan
Guest guest
I think you'll like him. He's good at explaining things, gives you about 45 minutes, listens. When you leave, you have a list of meds he put you on, changes med, lab results, that he's typed into his computer. > > Change settings via the Web ( ID required) > Change settings via email: Switch delivery to Daily Digest | Switch > format to Traditional > Visit Your Group | Terms of Use | Unsubscribe > RECENT ACTIVITY > 1 > New Members > Visit Your Group > Meditation and > Lovingkindness > A Group > to share and learn. > Health > Achy Joint? > Common arthritis > myths debunked. > Food Lovers > Real Food Group > on > find out more. > . > >
Guest guest
Hi El - No, I have not heard of Dr. Levine (at least not that I remember). Dr. Mirkin checked me for Lyme and the tests were inconclusive. Jan
Guest guest
Hi, Have you tried Dr. Norman Levin in Aldie, VA? Also, I just checked the previous posts and you were getting tested for Lyme's. How did that turn out? El _____ From: rheumatic [mailto:rheumatic ] On Behalf Of Janiceesher@... Sent: Monday, July 21, 2008 11:27 AM rheumatic Subject: Re: rheumatic Dr. Whitman's #? Great! Guest guest
Hi El, So are you saying the Lyme's (if there) would be treated with the AP therapy? And what did you take - what meds? Txs for your thoughts, and it's encouraging to hear that someone with a lupus diagnosis is doing well on AP! Jan > Hi Jan, > > So maybe you should try the AP for a few months and see how you feel. Guest guest
Hi Jan, So maybe you should try the AP for a few months and see how you feel. If you feel better and test results change then maybe Lyme's is the culprit in spite of the test results. My first Lyme's test was negative, a different test showed it was definitely positive. I am also positive for Lupus and RA. Once I attacked the Lyme's I don't seem to have any problems. The test may still say I'm positive (haven't rechecked) but I feel good. Guest guest
Hi Jan, Yes my Lyme's is treated with AP. I took Minocin, 100 mg a day, for almost three years. Within three months the swelling in my sausage like fingers went away, the Raynaud's went away, my joints stopped hurting, I was able to start working out and building some muscle back, my energy improved, I was able to sleep better, etc. I never herxed but I think that's because I stayed on a low dose. I ended treatment this January and followed it up with the Schardt Protocol where I took Diflucan for 50 days and was supposed to take Biaxin for 50 days but I could never find out the proper dosage. My Dr. gave me what he thought it should be but I only took the Biaxin sporadically. It leaves a horrible taste in my mouth so taking two 500 mg tablets a day is just something I can't make myself do - and apparently I don't feel badly enough to endure the bad taste. If I find I need to return to the Minocin I will take it daily for a month and then go onto a MWF schedule. It seems the Lyme's does not get totally killed off with AP so it may be necessary to pursue something else once it's under control or go back on the AP. Hope this makes sense. Guest guest
You could try the Marshall. It takes longer but is supposed to last long or even cure. Dolores I'm on it, but have not been for long so I can't say what or how long it takes for the cure, if ever.
