Hi Onyx;

This is probably " watermelon stomack " I never had it but if you go

to the Scleroderma Foundation site I know there is info there.Have you

tested for Celiac or Celiac syndrome as well as food

sensitivities,yeast,mal-absorbtion,heavy metals etc.Over 70% of us have

celiac syndrome that will go away on remission ,or full blown Celiac

disease. The only fix for that is total avoidance of gluten so check out

www.celiac.com for help and recepies. Lynne

I think you need to see a gastroenterologist for a diagnosis. This is the means

by which " watermelon stomach " is diagnosed, not purely by symptoms or guesswork.

Why rely on imperfect diagnoses by other that a specifically trained

diagnostician? An ER doc is not trained in this area. Get scoped. Especially

because the treatment is specific to condition. And if it is something else,

there is a good chance he'll see what it is. Why play guessing games with

something like this?

hi Lynne,  this is Dolores.  Need to get that large stomach checked pronto.

Glad the pain subsided, but the sudden weight gain on you is not normal.  I know

you are a bitty little thing barely making 100 lbs, soaking wet.  Get back to me

on our personal site.  I want to know what is going on.  Love ya kid.  Dodo

Thanks to all that responded, and yes, I do intend to get tested further. So

glad for now that the stomach has gone down slightly, and most of all, the

pain has subsided. I will make an appt. to see a gastro Dr. for sure.

I don't know about the pain, but sudden weight gain is often attributed

to an endocrine disorder. Usually, people start with testing the

thyroid. Eventually, you might decide to try digestive enzymes, but if

it is your thyroid, then the enzymes will only carry you so far.
