I'm just wondering what the average time frame is for noticing relief,

improvement, anything? I've completed month three now and I'm still

continuing to get worse. My arthritis is spreading to other joints and

getting more severe in others.

Beth

This therapy takes time - sometimes a very long time. The 'road back' can

be difficult. We are all different, so therapy has to be tailored to the

individual. When I started therapy I was told it would be 3-5 years just

to turn the corner. I continued to get worse for over 12 months, but then

very subtly everything changed and in less than 2 years I was in remission.

That was in May of 1991.

I suggest you read the stories on www.rheumatic.org to see how other people

have responded.

Beth,

My relief has come in the form of allergy therapy using diluted histamine, and

now, diluted cocoa, as I am allergic to it. My flexibility is returning and I

have actually forgotten my 5mg prednisone for a couple of days this week, which

I find amazing considering I was basically bed-ridden most of the time in

January. I find the histamine solution does as well or better than the

prednisone. I have been taking prednisone for about 12 weeks, weaning down from

an initial 20mg a day.

My situation may be unusual, but maybe not. If you read about the mycoplasma

theory, you will also read about possible allergic reaction to mycoplasma

by-products (toxins) that cause joint pain and swelling. This may be what is

happening in my case - we don't know yet.

My time frame has been about 5 weeks for relief through the allergy therapy

beyond what relief I got with the prednisone.

Feel free to inquire further,

JhaRee
