Guest guest
Hi, I'm so glad I found this site. Unfortunately, I don't have a doctor who is willing to consider RT3 issues, but after reading (and re-reading) all the information here and the links provided, I decided to order my own blood tests...this was a pain since I live in NJ where self-testing isn't available and I had to drive to Connecticut for the test. I just got my test results and everything is out of range: (all measurements pg/nl) TSH = 0.008 (0.450 - 4.500) T4 = 12.8 (4.5 - 12.0) T3 Free = 5.1 (2.0 - 4.4) T4 Free = 1.97 (0.82 - 1.77) Reverse T3 = 593 (32.0 - 100.0) So using the formula to calculate RT3 ration, mine would be 8.6, is that correct? Is it typical for TSH to be suppressed and FT4 & FT3 to be so high? I've been feeling pretty bad for a while, and especially the last 4 months that I've been on the new Armour, which I suspected might be my problem. To tell the truth, I was hoping my results would suggest hypo and I could just increase my dose, but it's better to know if I have a RT3 problem and this strategy isn't go to help. If I show my doc my lab results, I'm pretty sure he'll want to DECREASE my dose. <sigh> Also, I haven't had adrenals tested recently, but a few years back saliva tests showed stage 4 fatigue w/ high PM cortisol. My temp is pretty erratic but average is probably low 97's. I've recently started taking Isocort again but haven't noticed much difference. I'm not working and on a tight budget so trying to accomplish as much as possible with as little cost as possible. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks, Carol
