Sally, When I had chemo, I took lots of ginger supplements as well as drank ginger tea. It helped a great deal. I got car sick all the time from an early age. My GP told my Mom to give me gravol about 20 minutes before a long car ride/trip. Within 10 minutes of taking the gravol, I barfed. Possible allergy to fillers in the gravol. Since ginger is the main ingredient in gravol, he told Mom to make me ginger tea from grated fresh ginger starting at 1/4 tsp of ginger. Pour boiling water over the ginger and let steep for 5 minutes. As you get used to the taste you can increase the amount to be steeped. A little honey can be added if you require a sweetener. One of the good things to come from all the chemicals infused into my body for lymphoma, I am no longer car sick. I can now read as we drive along. At least I attribute the change in my body to the chemo as it was after this that I found that I was no longer car sick. I hope the ginger will work for you if you decide to give it a try. Good luck with your surgery and may God Bless. carol_DM
