Hi Deborah,

Do you have recent labs? If so, could you post them, along with lab ranges?

Ferritin, vitamin D, B12 tests too if you have them. If you have candida, I'd

bet you have a lot of vitamin deficiencies, including vitamin C.

Also, have you done a salivary cortisol test? If so, please post the results

along with ranges. If not, I'd recommend getting that test.

When you say you can't tolerate more than a 1/2 grain, what happens when you

take more?

As for fluconozole for candida, what happens is that you experience a die off

(herxing). For me, it was an increase in my symptoms of the candida. For others

it might also make you feel sick and flu-ish, maybe even a little spacey. You

just have to ride it out for a few days or a week.

The reason you can't tolerate more than 1/2 a grain and feel not right on 15 mcg

of T3 might be because you have low cortisol, low ferritin, or some other

problems - which is why we need to see these tests.

Here's a great website that may help:

days on it (when I did well and felt better) I began to feel a bit strange -

like I wasn't doing as well. I stopped it in order to get my blood test done

yesterday and went without it for about 28 hours. Because I also test positive

for candida, I started taking fluconazole (150 mg 1X/week) the same night as I

was off the T3, then using caprylic acid to help in between those doses.

Then I took a bedtime dose around 12:30 am. I took another dose at 9:00 am, then

4:00 pm today.

pressure, heart rate, and temps are fine. My joint and muscle pain has returned,

too. This is a bit disconcerting to me and I'm not sure what may be " up " .

should not have done that although my doctor said I should (actually his office

said I should). I was on a very low dose of Naturethroid (1/2 grain) because I

can't tolerate much.

from the fluconazole for the candida?

-Hi Pam, I just spent 30 mins composing an answer to you and with one wrong hit lost it all! I'll try again: Yes, I had a saliva adrenal test done in January. The results are compelling and the description certainly hit my situation on the head.

I'm composing this in Word so I don't lose

it again.

The results from adrenal saliva test in

January are:

Post Awakening: 26.8 (outside range; High)

+4-5 hours 27.9

(outside range; High)

+4-5 hours

5.8 (inside range: OK)

Prior to sleep 14.1 (outside range: High)

Total Daily Cortisol 74.6 (range: 21-41 nmol/L

DHEA

AM 0.24

(inside range)

PM 0.15

(outside range; Low)

DHEA: Cortisol Ration 0.26 (outside range: Low)

The description: Resistance Stage 2 –

Maladaption: relatively rare scenario. This would indicate a state of long-term

stressors depleting adrenal reserves in the face of an acute stressor causing

an excess cortisol response. Conditions listed many of which I have – chronic

pain & illness, allergies, glucose intolerance (currently seen as

"diabetes" by my endo). "Midnight level be may suggestive of malfunctioning of

the hypothalamic adrenal axis feedback system; noon level may be indicative of

low blood sugar levels before lunch, may also be indicator of adrenal stress"

The findings were amazing to me since we

had just been through 3 years of acute stress and then our family pet had a

sudden illness and death a week before Christmas just when our work load was at

its highest. We cancelled all Christmas plans this year; we were just too

tired. I had begun taking Adreno-Lyph after Christmas. Just one 80 mg. tab per

day. I can't tolerate more than that for I get jittery, irritable, high-strung,

have severe muscle tension and neck pain, etc. I feel much better without it! A

few years ago I could tolerate 2 twice a day but not now.

Dr. P here in the UK began to see

me in early February. He is a nutritional counsellor now (former physician). He

felt the saliva test results were probably skewed because of th low dose

Adreno-Lyph, but I feel they are pretty accurate, given my situation. His

recommendations right now were: lots of vitamin C (doing); hormonal saliva

testing (done – very low progesterone – started Natural Progesterone Cream);

candida testing – done – started treatment; and getting off Naturethroid and

slowly starting T3. All done! I still cannot tolerate Adreno-Lyph – it makes me

jittery and irritable; I still do better without it.

I'll get my blood test results (taken a few

days ago) in two days. History of 2 years of blood work included below. At last

endo appt. identified "diabetes" yet further HbA1c's show decrease in glucose

without meds – only diet and exercise. I'm including those, too.

My Naturethroid: I'm sorry, I mispoke. I can only take at most 1 grain; anytime I try for more I get joint and muscle pain. As per Dr. P's office I've stopped it currently and am only taking T3 (small doses). That's it for now. More information

following endo appt this Friday. Thanks for any input. I'm doing a bit better today. I didn't take T3 until 12:00 noon. Deborah

Deborah, you really need ot conqour the glucose issues BETTER and faster

as more damage is being done to your system even at these levels. Have

you tried Metformin? I certainly would wiht your numbers. You wan an A1c

around 5.4 or less. I just last week read wa study that over that leads

to heart disease if nothign else. And I am sure more things will come up

as they do more tests. Your liver will be GREATLY helped by the T3! I

had high liver enzymes (though NOT bilirubin) when I was very hypo and

they are all normal npow on T3 only, ther eis alot of good studies on

the web if you google Liver triiodothyronine. I htink Dr P has you on

the correct path but I would also add in DHEA ot help oush that cortisol

down. Start wiht 5mg in the AM and increase it eveyr two weeks by 5mg

till you are at 25mg as long as oyu have no problems wiht it, I break

out wiht pimple when I get too much.
