WHY!!!! >There was no way I could even think of doing that so I have been doing 12.50mcg 2 xs per day. I am noticing that I am starting to get depressed as I think the hyperthyroid state I put myself in is releasing... How do I know how much I need to be taking?? Can you give us a bit more of a history please, you will need a lot more than 25 to function. You would need to come down SLOWLY from 85 which will have shut your thyroid down to that sort of part replacement dose or you risk severe health issues Nick -- for more information on RT3 and Thyroid Resistance go to www.thyroid-rt3.com
Guest guest
Nick- I took too much T3 over a period of weeks.. My lab last week showed: FT3 7.75 (2.3-4.2) FT4 0.42 (0.89-1.76) RT3 79 (90-350) TSH 0.012 (0.350-5.500) Even Val said that I was a little hyperthyroid. (I am on week #5 of no T4) I had gone to the doc who ran the blood work and she wanted me to go to 37mcg daily of T3 only (she gets RT3) but she was real crappy to me so I went to my husband's doctor and he wanted me on 10mcg!! I know enough that I can't do that so I am doing 25mcg but I am starting to feel the emotions coming back... > > > > >Hello. With your FT4 where it is you won't be getting enough T3 to function on from there. My guess is you needed to back off to around 75, possibly 62.5 and within a week you would have been ready to go back up again. You were " a little hyper " , maybe not even hyper if you had resistance. That does not merit chopping meds in half. T3 takes 3 days to stabilise from a small dose change. maybe 5 days from a radical one like that. I would suggest take 25 today and then go up at 12.5 a day every 2 days until pulse and temperatures recover and you sstop feeling hypo. Going to 10 is dangerous, 37 would have left you very hypo. What was pulse and temperature doing on 85? Nick -- for more information on RT3 and Thyroid Resistance go to www.thyroid-rt3.com
Guest guest
Nick- At 85, pulse was strong and temps were good... I had been taking Isocort at the same time... right now I am weaning off isocort to see if that will help with the anxiety.... > > >Even Val said that I was a little hyperthyroid. > >(I am on week #5 of no T4) > > > >I had gone to the doc who ran the blood work and she wanted me to go to 37mcg daily of T3 only (she gets RT3) but she was real crappy to me so I went to my husband's doctor and he wanted me on 10mcg!! > >I know enough that I can't do that so I am doing 25mcg but I am starting to feel the emotions coming back... > > With your FT4 where it is you won't be getting enough T3 to function > on from there. > > My guess is you needed to back off to around 75, possibly 62.5 and > within a week you would have been ready to go back up again. > > You were " a little hyper " , maybe not even hyper if you had resistance. > That does not merit chopping meds in half. > > T3 takes 3 days to stabilise from a small dose change. maybe 5 days > from a radical one like that. > > I would suggest take 25 today and then go up at 12.5 a day every 2 > days until pulse and temperatures recover and you sstop feeling hypo. > > Going to 10 is dangerous, 37 would have left you very hypo. > > What was pulse and temperature doing on 85? > > Nick > > -- > > for more information on RT3 and Thyroid Resistance go to > > www.thyroid-rt3.com >
Guest guest
I agree going to 10mcg was a VERY foolish recomendatin fro your doctor,. When on T3 only for a while T4 levels drop VERY low and ther esi NO backup from it for thyroid until it can rebuild iun about 6-8 weeks. For thse weeks you need T3 and enough to live on. so yeah maybe cutting no lower than 50mcg would have been netter now oyu shoudl increase SLOWLY til hypo symptoms stop. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HypoPets/
Guest guest
Thank you. I am very hypo today... I am taking 12.50mcg every 4 hours... Do I just increase another 12.50mg today and for the next few days?? I don't want to overload my system again... > > I agree going to 10mcg was a VERY foolish recomendatin fro your doctor,. > When on T3 only for a while T4 levels drop VERY low and ther esi NO > backup from it for thyroid until it can rebuild iun about 6-8 weeks. Guest guest
> >At 85, pulse was strong and temps were good... I had been taking Isocort at the same time... right now I am weaning off isocort to see if that will help with the anxiety.... Anxiety MAY be low cortisol (caused by reducing the T3 sending you hypo). The low cortisol leads to adrenaline being produced instead of cortisol. If this is the case reducing the isocort will leave you worse off Nick
Guest guest
Nick- New doc and he wants me on Cortef.. I explained to him how much of the adrenaline rush I feel... First, he is having me do a urine cortisol test this morning and then wants me to ramp up to 20mg of Cortef. I was planning on increasing my T3 in a couple of days, will that hurt the process?? This is so confusing sometimes.. > > > > >At 85, pulse was strong and temps were good... Guest guest
I would wait til you get Cortef dosing correct before increasing T3 further. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HypoPets/
