Guest guest
Hello, I want to ask my doc about a trial of Cortef and am wondering how to proceed based on my current meds. I take 45 mcg compunded T3 (SR), 3 times a day. I've read alot on how to start Cortef prior to being on any thyroid medication or when currently on T4 only. I haven't broached this topic with my doc yet, and case he is resistant or unfamiliar with how to proceed (in respect to my current meds), I want to be armed with some info/details. Last appointment he talked about switching back to a T4/T3 med as I have been on T3 only for over 4 months and haven't felt any better. I am thinking this is the perfect time to give Cortef a trial, but want to see what y'all think how to proceed with one of the following: 1) starting cortef and continuing T3 only in conjunction with this (and best way to do this with dosing schedule, amount of cortef, stopping T3 for a week prior, etc.) 2) Starting cortef (and stopping T3 for a period of time prior to the trial) and then adding in Armour or some other T4/T3 combo (and best way to do this). Hopes this makes sense! Thanks,
