Guest guest
The two hour bit is a pain, but necessary. I take thyroid pills, minocin, plus vitamins, calcium interacts with both minocin and thyroid. I try to wake up in the night and take the minocin then, that way i only have to separate the thyroid and calcium. Guest guest
Hi Long timers! You sound like me. I tried wearing a watch to separate the high blood pressure pills, the diabetic pills, the MP pills and all the things I had to take for side effects then add the magnesium and iron. I wasn't getting much sleep. My brain was going numb. So, I got out my meds and counted 13 pills and some P.R.N's (taken as necessary!) I was feeling like crap! So, I started reading the slips of paper you get with the medication and sorted out what I felt was most necessary and started discarding the rest. The first to go was Benicar. I was already on two blood pressure lowering medications. Well, that stopped the palpitations and the diarrhea. Now I could eliminate the anti-diarrhea pills, checked the B/P. It remained normal. Without palpitations I eliminated the magnesium. Heart is beating normal. Now, I'm getting more sleep, so I eliminated the hydrocordone & Valium. With the C-pap machine, not only am I sleeping better, my lungs really sound clear and I don't need the nebulizer anymore. From 13 pills, I am down to 2 diabetes pills taken at once prior to breakfast, 2 hypertension pills taken after breakfast. This is repeated before and after dinner. I also take an anticoagulant pill with the evening meal. The Minocin I take every other day and usually about 1-2 hrs. before sleep. The zith is every tenth day and I will soon start on the third antibiotic. So the antibiotic schedule is the only thing that is suject to change. I don't take any supplements. I am a good eater and eat a well balanced diet for all my nutrients. Seems to be working okay. Blood work is almost normal. Need to do some minor change with the diabetic medication. That is still a bit high. Next visit, we will discuss that. The pain is subsiding. I am getting more active. I still wear the NoIR's outside and lo lights inside. The watch is now just a decoration. I wear it because my husband gave it to me. I really don't care what time it is. I am retired!~~~~~Dolores & Mike > > > > From: stkwinguy@.. . <stkwinguy@. ..> > > > Subject: rheumatic Hello to the long timers > > rheumatic@grou ps.com <rheumatic%40g roups.com> > > Date: Saturday, January 24, 2009, 12:47 PM > > > > > > > > > > > > > > I have not posted in probably eight years but was quite active ten and > > eleven years ago when I first contracted RA. Guest guest
So, you are basically on Mino + Zith. How often are you supposed to take the zith. MP has me on every tenth day. That seems like nothing to me. I need to re-read the 3rd phase and see how the zith is supposed to advance. I am also supposed to now add the third antibiotic. I'm going to follow my Infectious Disease doc's advice. I guess I'm no longer on MP. ~~~~~~Dolores & Mike > > From: stkwinguy@.. . <stkwinguy@. ..> > Subject: rheumatic Hello to the long timers > rheumatic@grou ps.com > Date: Saturday, January 24, 2009, 12:47 PM > > > > > > > I have not posted in probably eight years but was quite active ten and > eleven years ago when I first contracted RA. Guest guest
Holy Smokes,Dodo.I never thought you were on so many meds after getting to remission.I kind of suspected that you had not dropped your old BP med in favour of Benicar and that is the reason I sent you that article on the dangers of combining the two.You could have done yourself in that way and I can't believe the docs did not warn you.No wonder your brain fog was worse than before. hehehe > Hi Long timers!
