Guest guest
Yes, I’ve read and re-read sections of the T3 link you sent. That’s where I got my courage to try to up the T3. It’s a great resource one I refer to often. I’m just a bit stuck now. I’m not sure how my endo will feel when he learns I started T3 without his consent. J I know my rights to advocate for my own health (learned the hard way about 15 years ago – almost died at hands of physicians in the US!). I’m very pro-active and confident – I just don’t like battles, especially when I feel I’m on the right track (who does????) Thanks for help! Guest guest
I am also dreading when I'm going to tell my Dr. that I'm self-treating on T3 only. It is not going to be pretty. And I've had enough upset in my life already, I don't want any more, even having to deal with a huffy doctor. A huffy doctor who will no doubt be extra pissed off because (a) I did exactly what she told me not to do [take T3] and ( My improvement on T3 shows her up as ignorant, wrong, and a failure But this doctor's best efforts had left me almost housebound. I have been really sick for YEARS. I saw a chance to get healthier, and dammit, I took it. It's going to be an upsetting day when I have to deal with her on this issue, but in the end it's ME who is too weak, sick and exhausted to leave the house, and that means JUST TOO BAD and GET OVER IT for my doctor AND her ego. > > Yes, I've read and re-read sections of the T3 link you sent. Guest guest
Where do I get DHEA? Is it a prescription? I had it compounded for me (liquid suspension) by a compounding pharmacist before I left the US 3 years ago, but truly I didn’t feel much benefit from it. Other sources? Yes, my liver enzymes have been improving. Yes, I did try metformin about 4-5 years ago – and have tried it even as recently as last year. I get SO ILL on it – terrible stomach cramps, diarrhoea that won’t stop and makes me body hurt, dehydration, etc. It just hasn’t been at all helpful. . I’m not sure what my endo will decide about all that at this point. I’ll find out this Friday. If there were something else I would try it. We’re going to be a long two month business trip out of the country and I just can’t risk being that ill while travelling – what a mess that would be! We have tons of appointments scheduled, travelling through 3 states, and lots of meals with others. I am so sorry to disappoint you in that. I’m sure that may be a bit frustrating. My US endo was frustrated as well – and was at his wits’ end in trying to decide on treatment with me. I’m sure I’ll be frustrating my UK endo, too! I so hate that – it’s tough and has been tough for years. By the way, I’m feeling more “normal” now. I think the Adreno-Lyph that I took on Monday was just affecting me too much. One little 80 mg tablet and I’m fried! PS – how come when I insert my blood test results via “rich text” they get all scrambled on the forum? I hate that it appeared in such a confusing way. I’m sure others find it irritating, too. So sorry!

Guest guest
Have you considered insulin? I can;t take metformin either. When Diagnosed I had an A1c of 13.8.. OUCH and the beginning of neuropathy in my hands an feet, which would have put me out of my job by now if I did not get on it right away. I LOVE insulin as I have more freedom to eat and stil keep excellent control. It os a bti of a pain to get adjusted on btu once you knwo the adjustments it si simple and liely to prevent ALL the nasty side effects of having high glucose,. I stil eat low carb, VERY low carb in that I max at abotu 7oG carbs a day, but if I have a day I feel liek eatign more I can and still can control my glucose. Insulin is not the end of the world! Losing your eyesight or feet could well be or just hang on a Diabetes forum for a while and hear abotu the pain and gastroparesis and ETC.. It was enough to scare the crap out of me! -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HypoPets/
Guest guest
You can get DHEA from any health food store or online vitamin sources. You do not need a prescription for it, but it can be prescribed by doctors, as well. ka > > Where do I get DHEA? Is it a prescription?
