Hi Dr. Trentham is the cheif of Rheumatology at Harvard University and has his

office on the campus.  He strongly believes in AP and will order only Minocin

Brand name (pelletted kind) 100mg taken twice a day forever.  The first visit is

lengthy.  The second visit will take all of 10 minutes maybe.  By the third

visit, he figures you are well on your way to healing up most symptoms, so the

visit is for 5 minutes. On my fourth visit, he said here's your scripts for the

year with refills,  You're fine- go home--I only treat sick people.  He was

right, I was fine, but I knew I'd be okay only if I continued taking the Minocin

twice a day for many years and I really want the cure, not just the

maintenance.  So, 8 months later after being in remission for 7 months, I

decided to go on the MP.  I'm doing well, but do sometimes have some mild

herxing.  Tonight I had a heart herx which lasted quite a while.  I was a bit

nervous about it, but chewed an

extra Benicar like they told me to do and I also took my magnesium as I have a

tendency to get low in that.  It took a few hours, but the arythmias are gone

and I'm getting ready for bed now.  Soon everyone else will be getting up.  But

such is life in the scleroderma world.  MP also uses Minocin, but adds Benicar,

and clindamycin.  Next I add a third antibiotic called Azithromycin. The

antibiotics are taken on a pulsed schedule and attacks different pockets of the

micoplasmas that have colonized around your body.  I am positive for mico

pneumonae.  I may have other forms too.  Didn't get the complete testing.  They

also use Bactrim for those that need it.  I did feel better while on the Minocin

only, but that is because the Minocin has an antiinflammatory effect on the body

which helped with the joint pain a lot.  I was bedridden and rolling over in bed

was next to impossible.  Now, not only am I mobile, but my entire body is soft

and

supple and my movement is fluid.  Not bad for an old lady of 72.  I ended up

going back to work and enjoying making a buck again.  I am a retired nurse with

a desk job.  Not in nursing, but in sales of storage spaces.  My husband and I

run the store together.  It is an ideal job for a retired couple who like to

work together.  I also moved from NY to Texas to get warm.  Only problem is

wherever I go they have the A/C on so high, I bring a sweater, socks and keep

gloves in the car for when I buy groceries and must be in the freezer dept and

dairy cage.  Well, good luck with your visit to Dr. T.  Here is his number.

Make an appointment, but don't expect to talk at length about the illness.  He

knows all about the illness, its symptoms, etc.  He will order initial blood

work.  But, I never got follow up blood work done there.  I would have my local

doc do it and then bring the results to Dr, T,  He once told me, I don't treat

lab results,

I treat people.  He is a bit eccentric.  So, be prepared for the tall elf-like

thin jolly doc.  He is pleasant, but short on conversation.  He was involved

with the Mira studies and now the Reumatology Dept is conducting a study on

Lupus.  They are into lots of trials and studies on diseases that affect the

immune system.  I hope they find the cure.  Love Dolores  Dr. Trentham's

number---617-632-8658.  They will mail you directions and maps to the place.

It's a white building on Campus, surrounded by the hospital and university.

Have a great lunch at Fanuel Hall. D.
