Guest guest
> Tell them you'll bring your own? i'm paying too much money to want to do that. plus, what could i take? i don't eat bread, and i can only tolerate few fruits/vegs unjuiced and cheese in moderation. and, if they are going to accomodate vegans and low-fatters, why not me? since i can't think of a descriptive name for the diet, which a chef would immediately recognize, i'm considering just writing out a list of the things that i can eat and letting them work within those guidelines. surely they can handle some healthy soups, right? allene
Guest guest
e, This is the dilemma we all face when we leave home. s recommendation is perfect to bring your own. If you won't or for whatever reason are unable. You can always just default to meat and vegetable as a meal. Obviously the selections will likely be poor however in the lowest common denominator perspective meat and vegetable can be handled by most hosts. Obviously I don't know what you personally tolerate well with the leaky gut. Hopefully you are getting that corrected. Guest guest
How strictly do you have to be " NT " ? Can you generally eat simply prepared meat and steamed vegetables with butter, and a salad with oil and vinegar? They'd probably be able to do that easily...it fits the " low carb " type diet. Suggest: eggs and bacon for breakfast chef salad for lunch meat, vegetables, salad for dinner ? -----Original Message----- From: allenerob [mailto:sallene@...] Sent: Sunday, March 24, 2002 8:36 PM Subject: " special dietary needs " at camp i will be attending a knitting retreat at an historic inn in NC in early june (thurs dinner through mon breakfast) and need to inform the organizers of my " special dietary needs " so that they " can plan accordingly " . what on earth do i tell them? i am willing to deviate from the NT diet for one meal, but i have leaky gut and explode with more than one deviation. tia-- allene
Guest guest
well, here is my thinking on these things, so take it with a grain of salt Since you have a specific medical condition, just be up front about what you can and can't eat. If you didn't, and just wanted to eat more WAP-ish on the theory that a lifetime of the SAD is a bad idea, then I'd say just take a vacation from WAP eating and enjoy the junk food. Guest guest
hi, justin, jill, dr michael, leslie, and all-- justin wrote: > Since you have a specific medical condition, just be up front about what you can and can't eat. good! at first, i thought that maybe my insistence on accomodation would be unreasonable, then i remembered that a " mainstream " friend of mine w/MS is on the paleo diet, and i doubt that event organizers would expect her to deviate from her diet. i have decided to tell them that the diet is necessary for my muscular dystrophy rather than for the leaky gut, which, although it could be the root of the dystrophy, is an outwardly invisible condition and less understood. of course, there's always the chance that the 2 of us *are* unreasonable <g>. jill wrote: < Can you generally eat simply prepared meat and steamed vegetables with butter, and a salad with oil and vinegar?
