Guest guest
Hi Mona I take doxy 100 mg and Minocin 100 g a day. Actually I take doxy around noon and minocin at night. Doxy makes my stomch upset . so I take it with some snack. You can take doxy with food. If you take mulivitamin there should be at least two hours gap between them. I had horrible stomachache the first 3 months of taking minocin. My stomach got used to it after a while. Brand name minocin is better on my stomach than the generic. of course antibiotic messes up our stomach. I think the antibiotics have irritated your stomach that's why you cann't tolerate lactose. I have stopped taking dairy products since two years ago. I don't know if I have allergy to dairies. many people and holistic doctors believe dairies are allergen. I am going to try SERRAPEPTASE. It is an enzyme that decrease inflammation. Email me in 2-3 weeks to tell you if it is effective. soheila From: Mona Goldstein <spellers@...> Subject: Re: rheumatic I am taking doxy for more a year and no problem rheumatic Date: Tuesday, August 25, 2009, 6:30 PM Soheila-what are the doses that you are on for both the doxy and minocin? When I needed to be on doxy for a tick bite, I was taken off the minocin, for fear that both at the same time would mess up my already-messed up stomach. Within two weeks of being off minocin, my reactive arthritis was so horrible, that I started taking the minocin without telling the doctors. I have found that since the time I took the two antibiotics together, I am lactose intolerant. Weird? Mona Re: rheumatic anyone heard of this rheumatic@grou ps.com Date: Monday, August 24, 2009, 3:22 PM I think the issue with Doxy (and all of the antibiotics and other meds) is again, each of us reacts differently. I was on Doxy for a year several yrs ago but it wasn't half as effective as the Minocin so my doc put me back on that. Nothing negative happened though, but it's a good and wise heads up for all of us to realize some of us might be adversely affected. thanks, Judy Keels
