Sounds fine to me, " most people " need somewhere between 75 and 125 of T3 a day so you are on the lower edge, hopefully more will bring you into range and leave you less hypo Nick -- for more information on RT3 and Thyroid Resistance go to www.thyroid-rt3.com

Guest guest
What type of T3? Compounded? Generic? Brand? Are you swallowing or taking sublingual? What was last T3 dose & how long before test? Lethal Lee > > My ft3 came back at 249 (230 to 420). Guest guest
hey kathleen, just wondering if i could pick your brain a bit... what was your ferritin level like initially? how long did it take you to get it up to 90? did you have to maintain 37.5mcg for a really long time because of ferritin? when in the process were you able to start raising your t3 again successfully? just curious, my ferritin was at 31 about a month ago and i have been taking 200mg blue bonnet iron a day, in the meantime, i'm at 40mcg generic T3, and tried to raise it to 50mcg a week ago, unsuccessfully. i hope that in a couple weeks i can raise it with more success, but the wait is killing me. this is truly a lesson in patience. i see from your posts that this is an issue you have experience with, just need a little encouragement i guess. thanks! alexis > > My ft3 came back at 249 (230 to 420). Guest guest
Have you considered iron IV's? They raise ferritin MUCH faster than oral iron and many on this group have had good results with them. Venofer iron IVs have worked better for me than anything else for for the low ferritin problem. Below are links to posts on this group on this subject. http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/message/35433 http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/message/35464 http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/message/32581 http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/message/34651 http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/message/32505 http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/message/36032 There are other types of iron IVs (have had a few of them, too, never had a problem). But it is my understanding that Venofer is the one with the very lowest chance of side effects. The only caution I am aware of with Venofer is if the patient has low blood pressure. I used to have very low blood pressure; I've read that Venofer's recommendation for this is to run the IV a lot slower. My IVs now take about a half hour; back when I had low blood pressure they slowed the rate of infusion and it took over an hour to get the same dose. Same good end result, just a little longer time sitting in the IV room. www.venofer.com > > > > My ft3 came back at 249 (230 to 420). Guest guest
thanks for that helpful response, margery:) it was very interesting and informative! had no idea bout venifer... wow, i would sooooooo loooooove to do an iv, dont even mind the costs, as it will benefit me so much. my real dilema/problem would be getting a prescription and finding a place to do it. my current doctor is great on many levels, he uncovered the Rt3/t3 connection... yet i dont think he believes in the ferritin connection, he actually didnt even test for it on my initial blood tests with him, although he tested for everything else under the sun. had to go off labs from the previous doc to know that my iron was low. i think he is afraid that iron supplements might cause cancer or something.... i dont know:(. and i dont know if he'll support me taking this much iron orally much less in an iv. i was just hoping to avoid talking to him about how important the ferritin thing was, as to avoid derailing his support of me being on regular t3, not sustained release stuff, etc, and i cannot doctor jump again, he is extremely on board with t3 only and that, i think, has to be the bottom line. my previous doc DID noticed how low my iron was and recommended iron supplementing heavily, and they also did vitamin/mineral IVs in that center all the time....wish i had done some then, had i known what i know now.... unfortunately he had no idea about the rt3 thing and when my ft3 labs were high and yet i didnt feel right, he suspected i didnt need to be on dessicated thyroid at all, just needed iodine. we mutually fired eachother, i guess you could say....and i found another doc. wish i could just walk back in there for an iv and then walk out, or i wish my current doc and old doc could meld into one... i feel so defeated right now:(!!!!!! > > > > > > My ft3 came back at 249 (230 to 420).
