Guest guest
I don't believe it was Remacaid. The guy said rheumalaid or something. It could be one of these homeopathic things. Guest guest
I think the issue with Doxy (and all of the antibiotics and other meds) is again, each of us reacts differently. I was on Doxy for a year several yrs ago but it wasn't half as effective as the Minocin so my doc put me back on that. Nothing negative happened though, but it's a good and wise heads up for all of us to realize some of us might be adversely affected. thanks, Judy Keels
Guest guest
Never heard of it but I think w/ any pharmaceuticals, anything is possible. We are all difft and what affect one may not affect another. I have been on Mino for about a year now and feel pretty good considering how I felt before AP. There are some days that my psyche is probably better than others but this is probably and combo of stress and pms....just a part of living life in the day and age we are in today. If I felt that what I was taking was affecting me or others around me negatively believe me, I wouldn't hesitate to stop taking it. Awareness and education are key to your healing... lar rheumatic anyone heard of this this appeared on another list i am on. anyone heard this re doxy b/f: WARNING: DOXYCYCLINE IS DANGEROUS > > > > Carl F. Guest guest
Hi , >>>this appeared on another list i am on. anyone heard this re doxy b/f:<<< Yes, I've heard of this. It's?becoming a pretty?well-known phenomenon that this form of rage is a?direct result of infection with Lyme disease, called, " Lyme psychosis " or " Lyme rage. " ?This was big news here in CT and nationally?about 6 months ago when a domesticated chimpanzee infected with Lyme?experienced a psychotic episode and tore off a woman's face. There was also the case of a young man with Lyme this past year, dubbed the " Church Shooter, " ?who had Lyme and walked into a church and shot the minister. Another well-documented case of Lyme psychosis is that of a young CT teen, some years ago,?who knocked on his neighbor's door and hacked him to death with an axe. You should?be able to locate these news items. This phenomenon has created a bit of a stir in Lyme circles...after all,?who wants to be labeled " psychotic, " because they have Lyme??However,?Lyme docs say it does happen and that the mainstream is in denial about the far-reaching and very devastating?effects of this infection. From what I understand, people with Lyme disease have been locked away in asylums, only getting sicker and not receiving treatment. This infection can get anywhere in the body...loves collagen-rich tissue: joints, muscles, skin, brain, heart, etc.? As I understand it, Lyme is a spirochete much like syphilis,?which can enter brain tissue and cause tremendous damage. Go to " Columbia Lyme " website to see SPECT brain scans of patients with Lyme. Untreated syphillis was also known to create a similar form of " madness. " If you do a search on the above terms (lyme psychosis or lyme rage), you will find lots of info pop up from both sides of the Lyme controversy. I'm just a fellow?patient, but my best guess is that when treatment was commenced for Lyme,?this poor?guy?experienced massive die-off and?the toxins just?overwhelmed the guy's brain circuits. There again...maybe the guy got?a bad batch of doxy? I think I'm leaning more on the side that the infection " made him do it. " ? The tetras have an incredibly good safety profile. Thanks for sharing this interesting info! Peace, Maz WARNING: DOXYCYCLINE IS DANGEROUS > > > > Carl F. Guest guest
, further to the Lyme rage thing, this link just came through on my Lyme support group and thought you'd find it interesting. The park ranger, Jordan Fisher, who appeared in the movie documentary, Under Our Skin, describes his experience of Lyme rage: http://www.lymedisease.org/news/lyme_disease_views/183.html He says, " “I got sicker and sicker,†he said. “Within a month, I felt profoundly fatigued.†Over time, 's symptoms included memory loss, disorientation, arthritis, fatigue, loud ringing in his ears, exaggerated emotions (often called “Lyme rageâ€), numbness in his feet that would turn to burning pain and blurred vision.
