I hate to say this, but have you considered that you might have a panic disorder and are having panic attacks, not heart problems?

If you had a real heart problem, I think the hopsitals would've seen it by now since you've been there several times and you check out fine, right?

Just something to consider....

> Since 9th of March: 20 mg HC in the morning, 10 mg at lunch, 5+5 in the evening: 40 mg HCSince 16th of March: 0.05 mg (50 mcg) Fludrocortisone + 35 mg DHEA in the morning.

Just trying to throw possibilities out there. It might not be a panic attack, but it could be generalized anxiety where it's just constantly with you. I know that is what it was for me, not just attacks out of no where. And with your health, you are constantly worried, you can hear it in your emails. You repeat a lot of the same questions/concerns and that is part of generalized anxiety disorders. I am not saying that as a negative thing, but just from seeing all your emails, you are very worried/panicky all the time. When someone answers you about Potassium and RBC potassium, sodium, etc... you will ask the same question the next day. You have been to the ER numerous times in the past month or so, but check out fine when you are there. You just said your BP was normal and so was your pulse. Perhaps when you are there, you are more relaxed because you know if something happens, you are in the right place to be cared for. At home you feel like things are out of control because you can't see what is going on inside of you. You say that all the time...that you wish you knew what your sodium was at the moment since it changes so much. You can tell by your emails that you have a great deal of anxiety over this. And I am not saying that you don't have a reason to be worried, but at the same time all the worrying is extra stress and you are probably depleting your body of the cortisol that the HC is making for you, so your adrenals can't rest to get better. I honestly think talking to your doctor about techniques (breathing, etc) to relax would be helpful. Again, not pointing fingers or saying this to sound "mean", but you need to get a handle on your worrying or you will have a LONG road ahead of you to recover, or perhaps it will hinder you from recovering at all. If having your electrolytes tested makes you feel better because you know what is going on, then do them once a week. But I must say that since you have had ferritin, all these blood tests are going to slow down your being able to raise your ferritin so it can help you utilize your T3, etc... So maybe getting your electrolytes done every 2 weeks (like many of us do) would be better. You have numbers that you are fixated on, and that isn't help you. Did you think about the fact that you can have arrhythmias from low ferritin, and all these blood tests could be depleting you of your ferritin stores.

You keep producing adrenaline, it may not be a full blown panic attack

BUT it's severe anxiety.

Is there a time of day this happens to you most often??

What times do you end up in the ER??

If there is a regular pattern try and look at that together with your

HC dosing.

I miostly feel bad in the evening, but I do take 5+5 mg HC in the evening, so...Adrenaline? Not too sure about it.In the last few days my head is feeling worse and worse. This is not just "adrenaline". This must be directly linked to my fludrocortisone -I now have had a very dry mouth for 4-5 days, my head has started to hut 24 hours a day, and.. Last night I had a pulse of 100 when trying to sleep.. It was 03:00 and I couldn't fall asleep.. So I took magnesium and some sea salt.. Pulse went down - WONDER WHY!?!?!?I am worried I will get hyponatremina from drinking too little sea salt! How can I know the difference from getting too much or too little sea salt? Is it mainly the pulse that decides? I don't want my brain to swell from getting a shock from too little salt all of a

sudden!I also dont wanna be salt intoxicated like Hertoghe says. This is sooo hard! And my head hurts BADLY now from wakeup! What do I do?

If your pulse drops on taning salt you were probably low in sodium. If

there was no reaction to it then you had enough already

To me that says your body NEEDS the salt. I know if my pulse is up, and I drink salted water, within a 1/2 hour to an hour, my pulse comes down.

But most people start with 1/4 of a tablet. He has capsules so he has been splitting in 1/2. I would empty content and put in a gel cap. If you can't do that, perhaps your wife can divide them for you. I think part of the problem is you took a higher dose too soon. Just my .02.

I agree. Pulse that comes down after you eat salt means you NEEDED salt. Also, headaches can be sign of low salt. I do not know what salt intoxication is. Can you please explain, ? Didn't Hertoghe tell you to continue salt and/or potassium with your florinef? Florinef can cause headaches I am pretty sure when you first start as your body adjusts. THat is why it is suggested here to start slowly, but I know Hertoghe put you on the full dose straght away. Can you call Hertoghe and ask how much salt you are supposed to be taking or at least tell them you are having signs of low salt: headache, high pulse, etc.Kathleen> > >Thanks, but sorry - i had panic attacks before and i recognize them. Fullblood showed a deficiency in sodim. That test was done 3 weeks ago, before i went to hertoghe. I Wonder if such a test is To be trusted. if it is, i cant ser how i possiblt can be overdosed on sodium!Cells vs serum. Ok so serum sodium is on theLow range now. Can my mouth be dry because i am drying on the inside due to fludro and me taking less salt, causing my body to Loose Too much Water??? Sendt fra min iPhoneDen 20. mars 2010 kl. 16.47 skrev :

From Wikipedia:"The body (in particular the brain) adapts to the higher sodium concentration. Rapidly lowering the sodium concentration with free water, once this adaptation has occurred, causes water to flow into brain cells and causes them to swell."I have been drinking 1 tea spoon sea salt daily. going down to NOTHING like that. Is that safe after reading this?

It's the timing of the reduction of salt intake and the Fludro

increase.
