Guest guest
I'll try, had hoped Val would pick it up as it's a complex one but I'll have a go and hope Val jumps in if I call it wrong >My temp. chart has been all over the place and I have been trying to figure it >out for the past month. Finally decided that I must be taking too much Cytomel. >I have lowered my dosage by 6.25 mcg (was taking 50 mcg.Cytomel). Unlikely that would be too much >My temps were >closer together but was dropping again (drops then rises more than .2). >Waited 4 days and then lowered it again by 6.25mcg.(now on 37.50 mcg.). The >second day on 37.50 my temp. moved up from 98.1 to 98.4 and I felt kinda >fluttery/anxious inside. This is saying to me low adrenals. if you lower the T3 you go hypo but have less demand on the adrenals >Lowered my cytomel again on 3/8 to 31.25 mcg.(in 10th week of T3 only now). >Stayed on 31.25 for six days and here are what my average temps. looked like: >98.5, 98.6, 98.9, 98.6, 98.5, 98.7, and pulse ranged between 80-100. Basil >ranges from 97.9 to 98.3 and pulse from 72 to 80. >On the seventh day (at 31.25) I had to skip the bedtime dose (only took 25 mcg.) >as I felt wide awake and feeling like I could run all night, (anxious, fluttery) >and did not sleep real good. I wonder if that's adrenaline rather than thyroid? >So the next day I began as usual and by the third dose I felt very excitable >again...just flying. Skipped the 4th dose this time and took it at bedtime and >rested good that night. After 2 days on 25 mcg. I figured I better stick with >that for a few more days and watch temps. and pulse on this dose: >3/14 - 99.1 (p=80-96) >3/15 - 98.7 (p=76-84) >3/16 - 98.7 (p=76-88) >3/17 - 98.9 (p=80-88) Doesn't look hypo, I wonder what's happening >Could not sleep on the 16th and 17th felt awake all night like my brain would >not go to sleep. Overload of energy. I missed having energy and hate to >complain, but I also must sleep or else I know what is to come. >I thought it was again too much Cytomel as now I am on my 12th week of T3 only >so I lowered my dose on 3/18 to 18.75mcg. (took Cytomel about every 6-7 hours >with the last dose at bedtime). Of course I still had alot of energy and could >not sleep last night. My temp. was an average of 99.0, and pulse between 84-92. >3/19 - 98.6 temp., pulse 88-92 - staying with 18.75mcg. for the next few days unless you advise differently or if I feel too anxious. Also my period started if that has any bearing on all of this? >So far today 3/20- basil and first temp. lower than usual (basil=97.8, and 98.2). > >~Please advise on what I am doing wrong and what I should change. > >~Why did my temps rising when I lower my dosage of Cytomel? Does too much Cytomel stress the adrenals and cause this? It can do >~Could it be receptors clearing? Partly >~Is it time to get retested now? I would say get stable first, keep going on pulse and temperature > >~Would getting too much Cytomel cause me not too sleep? >It used to ~be not getting enough T3 was causing me not to get good sleep. Possibly >Many thanks again for all your time and knowledge and kindness, I am wondering, and it's a big stretch, if you are one of the people that talks about who when they can clear their RT3 " capture " their temperature and can wean off thyroid replacement completely. If temperature and pulse hold OK you can try weaning down further and see what happens but be prepared to increase again if you need to Nick -- for more information on RT3 and Thyroid Resistance go to www.thyroid-rt3.com
Guest guest
Gosh that would be wonderful, but I will not get my hopes up. Thanks for your advice and I will just keep charting temps. and pulse and wait. Sorry my post was so long. I try to figure out things with all the info. I read on site and in book first, then write you when I can't figure any way to turn. Thanks again, Marcy P. > > > >My temp. chart has been all over the place and I have been trying to figure it > >out for the past month.
