Guest guest
Carol you are way beyond my experience here. But let me say this so all reading can see it, It si DANGEROUS to just STOP T3 when you have been on it long enough to fully supress T4. There si NO back up and as we all klnow T4 takes a WHILE (6-8weeks) to build up and be converted and start workign. That is TOO long to be thta low in thyroid. It sounds liek you have a brain that is T3 starved even ON T3, so you need ot look into the transporter system for T3 which si thansthyrethrin and albumin. You need a really good doctor that understands these issues . It i sOVER my head, and I dontl often say that. I would say you are doing the best for yourself that can be done and simply try to increase it as yo can tolerate it. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HypoPets/
Guest guest
Hard to describe how sad I was to get your post. It was only for ONE DAY that I was off because I was having such a reaction to even 2.5mcg of T3. (I posted what I planned to do, but went ahead and did it without a response. Totally bad.) I don't know of a doc who gets all this at this level. Do you know of one? (If not, I'm totally on my own, if it's beyond you, and that feels scary as hell to me. I didn't mean for this to happen.) I thought if I got my iron today, then I can try to start going up on T3. I still think that might be part of it, as I was having some days that my brain was feeling a bit better - not great. But since going off T4, it's been bad. QUESTION: Are you saying I need to be on T4 to build it back up?! I thought the suppressing it (and TSHO with T3 was part of how the receptors cleared when one has Rt3 dominance. I thought folks could be fine without T4, which I finally jumped on board with! QUESTION: What does looking into the transporter system for T3 (thansthyrethrin and albumin) entail? If I was just trying to go up on T3 after the iron infusion, do you have any thoughts? (I get that the other pieces are over your head, I'm just trying to get a sense because until I connect with a doc, I'm going to try and get some more T3 in me!) Send good thoughts please, folks. > > Carol you are way beyond my experience here. Guest guest
Okay, I will. fyi, I tolerated old doses of T3 today with NO drop in temp (in fact, temp was a wee high 98.9 and I felt too warm, but pulse was a good 75!!) and no adrenaline surge. It was encouraging!! Who knows what tomorrow or three hours from now will bring, but I STILL believe I can pull through this the way we'd planned, and maybe I needed some days to get some T3 in me. We'll see! I'll report back, so don't count me out!!!!! (Though I truly heard what you said loud and clear, Val.) I had the iron IV today and I plan to start increasing T3 a bit tomorrow. Btw, my doc has ordered me some compounded transdermal iron to circumvent the gut, since I have such a difficult time tolerating iron - major constipation, which I'll get from the IV, but it's short term, at least. I'm going to wait for five days and get my ferritin tested again -I think that's enough time. And if I need more iron, i'll go the transdermal route. I'll be sure to report back to the list if it's effective, cost, etc. > > You need ot do some searches for Transthyrethrin I can;t as I have too > much work right now or I owuld do it for oyu. Guest guest
No naming of docs here, but I went to the satellite Holtorf clinic, and I knew as much as the doc did. (He was a lovely guy, but...) If Holtorf is the only one, I'm screwed. Time to start researching articles, and like you said, Val, if I find stuff about the transfer issue, I'll send it to you to help interpret. (When my brain works, I can read medical stuff well. But, we know my brain is NOT working. Ha!) Thank you. > > The only doctor I have ever heard talk at all about this woudl be > Holtorf an I am not sure how much he knows abotu it. > > -- > Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV > > http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ > http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ > http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ > http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HypoPets/ >
Guest guest
Carol, My doc has scheduled 3 iron IV's in a row for me, and said I needed to wait a month to get ferritin retested. He said we need to wait that long because we need to know not only that the IV has raised the ferritin, but that it's stayed up, i.e. that I've held onto it. Guest guest
Thanks much, Peggy! I also need to find out if the one round of IV is enough, so I think I need to retest before then to make sure I get this ferritin up adequately as soon as I can. I had 5 IV rounds a while back and it was TOO MUCH, and I don't want to do that. (Also, it's very expensive and I have to be super judicious in how I spend my health dollars. I have no health insurance and am barely working and am single at this point). I couldn't hold it, as well. (probably low T3.) So, I think I might test in five days. ~ Carol > > > > You need ot do some searches for Transthyrethrin I can;t as I have too > > much work right now or I owuld do it for oyu.
