Guest guest
Hello to Everyone: I subscribe at no cost to a website, www.medicalnewstoday.com to receive the Latest News about various diseases/conditions of my own choosing. Today there were three interesting articles relating to inflammatory response (Arthritis & Rheumatology, Lupus, etc.) The third article, " Discovery Of A Key Protein Regulator of Inflammation and Cell Death " , eludes to infection as a root cause of inflammatory conditions... " Researchers have long sought this elusive protein that senses the presence of DNA in the cytoplasm, which is associated with pathogenic INFECTION or the escape of undigested self-DNA into the cytoplasM...we not only identified the key protein in this process, but also discovered how this protein reacts to DNA and causes inflammation " . This protein is involved in the detection and reactions to dangerous cytoplasmic DNA that is produced by infection with viral or microbial pathogens. " Sounds like this may be applicable to infection by mycoplasma or Lyme disease. The first two articles address scientists discovering an abnormality in one patient's immune system that may lead to safer treatments for 'autoimmune' diseases such as R/A. She produces antibodies that PREVENT infection-fighting T cells from moving through her blood stream and entering her body's organs TO ATTACK invaders such as bacteria or viruses. This discovery may explain why A/P works on only 75-80% of people who try it. Go to www.medicalnewstoday.com. On the left you will see " New Category Menu " . Click on the topic 'Arthritis/Rheumatology NewS' and check out these articles. They are very medically and technically oriented but I feel the gist of each article is presented in layman's terms. I recommend you register to get the Latest News for whatever condition ails you. These articles come from research being done worldwide.
