Guest guest
Hi, I've never tried Splenda, but I'd like to check it out. Another thing you might want to look into is " Stevia " powder. It is a natural sweetener from a plant and is much sweeter than sugar. You can get it at most health food stores. Thanks for the info Tina
Guest guest
While we're talking about sweeteners........... In preparation for my new lifestyle, I bought a ten-pack of MinuteMaid orange juice sippy boxes. I thought they would be handy to carry in my purse. Well I tried one last night and I'd rather drink vinegar! Ugh! It was so bitter! I hate to throw it away. What about sweeteners to fix this up and make it palatable. I am accustomed to drinking unsweetened OJ, but I think they made this batch with the peels still on. Any suggestions would be appreciated. -Jane in Raleigh, 12/

Neither NutraSweet or Sweet n Low should cause dumping, because even tho they are sweet they are utilized by the body differently. Sugar is converted to glucose and that is all your brain utilizes for " food " but you will get plenty in a day from other types of " sugars " . Splenda is a sugar derivative and I would imagine is matabolized differently but I would find that in black and white before you try it! For those of you who are trying the sugar free jello and puddings enjoy!!!! Once I get this surgery I am off the sweet flavor for good!!! I do not tolerate Nutra sweet and the Sweet n Low is OK but not great. Hope this helped some!:)Paige > >Okay everyone I have a question. Sugar makes most people dump? Guest guest
Jane, I have found that it is difficult to sweeten citrus juices with artificial sweeteners but I suppose you could try! Guest guest
<< Any suggestions would be appreciated. -Jane in Raleigh, 12/27 >> Dump them, Jane. If they don't hit your " taster " as acceptable, don't make yourself crazy trying to alter the taste with a sweetener. Grit your teeth and cut your losses before giving yourself a dumping episode from trying to change the flavor with an added sweetener. I've found Minute Maid juices just don't taste right since my MGB. Try Tropicana, Florida Natural...anything NOT made from concentrate and without added sugar. Have you tried V8 yet? That seems to be fine with my taster and my tummy. Glad to hear that your up and about, woman! Dee in MI.

Guest guest
If you're using Nystatin, a lot of people will recommend no sugar. That means no sugar at all. No fruit, no juice, no nothing. We're using Nystatin, but we're not sugar-free. However, we have eliminated the fermentable fruits. (i.e. grapes, apples, etc.) Pat
