Guest guest
I have to agree that Val is right on with this one. My DHEA has always tested very low and my bone density wasn't good, either, and the docs keep trying to put me on DHEA. Well, I took it and my estrogen went way too high, I started having estrogen dominance symptoms again (which I haven't had in years since taking PG) and my testosterone BARELY went up, so I'm using topical testosterone anyway! I think all that estrogen made me feel even more hypo! Egads, I don't need that! I cut the DHEA down to 5 mg, but I think I am just going to stop it all together. I know studies say it helps with this and that, but I think Val is right -- the benefits are coming from the testosterone and it doesn't turn into that with me anyway. Oh, and 7-Keto turned into estrogen just as much as the regular DHEA! Dr Rind once told me he didn't believe 7-keto doesn't convert into sex hormones and he's right, at least with me. Kathleen > > Hi All, had to comment on Val's post 36221, my body never converts pre-hormones properly. I've tried DHEA, 7-Keto DHEA, Pregnenolone, you name it, none made me better, most did nothing, some made me worse. (One made me smell really bad! Yuk & LOL!) Only now, thanks to Val, do I understand why none of them worked - my body did not properly convert ANY of them to the correct end hormone. > > I also converted T4 into harmful RT3 instead of helpful T3. Guest guest
This is very interesting! Val, could you explain this to me... I am on DHEA as well, some months ago when I was on Armour and I started to have adrenal symptoms my doctor put me on HC (30 mg) and DHEA (15 mg?). Before starting any thyroid treatment (or adrenal) my testoreno and DHEA were highish because I have PCOS. Then after thyroid and adreanl testosterone plumeted (DHEA was not tested), although still within the normal range. My sex drive plumeted accordingly and it has stayed like that, it just doesn't exist. This is something alien to me which used to have a " healthy sexual appetite " . My doctor say he never saw anyone who had less sex drive after treating thyroid than before ???? But, that's me! Also, my strogen is usually highish as well (I believe from PCOS as well) and I do have symptoms of strogen dominance, like painful breasts after ovulation (and fibrocystis brests which I believe is also related with strogen dominance, but not sure). Since I have worse problems than these I haven't insisted much in traying to improve this, but now I wonder... I have read somewhere Val saying than HC suplementation lowers testosterone... How could I address this issue, which tests should I have to see where I am. Is there a better way to sort out all this thyroid/addrenal/sex hhormones issues??? > > > > Hi All, had to comment on Val's post 36221, my body never converts pre-hormones properly.
