Guest guest
Is iron keeping me from optimizing T3? Should I hold at the current T3 dose and wait for iron to come up more? Or do I really need more T3? My temps are stabilizing at 98.2-98.4 on 100 mcg Cynomel. I'm taking 176 mg elemental iron currently. My recent iron panel: Ferritin 64 ng/mL (6-250) Iron 44 ug/dL (30-150) TIBC 326 ug/dL (250-450) Iron Saturation 13% (15-50) Symptoms: some remaining brain fog and fatigue, bloating/digestive issues/weight gain (since starting T3 only) have seen no improvement. 17 weeks on T3 only. Meds: HC is currently 20mg/day (Qualitest), may go up to 25mg (temps seem to be stabilizing but may not stabilize enough on the current dose). I've recently increased estrogen, progesterone, added testosterone, and am now on 20mEq per day of potassium. Sherry
Guest guest
Ferritin 64 ng/mL (6-250) Iron 44 ug/dL (30-150) TIBC 326 ug/dL (250-450) Iron Saturation 13% (15-50) With these iron labs I woudl definitly NOT raise T3 further. You need ot hold or even lower a tad till the iron loks much better. I would also not raise cortiosl as I think your adrenal stress will ease as you become less T3 intolerant by raising the iron. If oyu are feeling too much adrenal stress now, I would lower T3 a bit till your iron is better. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HypoPets/
Guest guest
Thanks very much, Val. Can you tell me what the target would be for the Iron labs?
