Hi Phil

I was very excited to note that your wife seems to have gone into remission

from Lyme Disease. Please could you give further details of her case so

suggestions can be made to the doctor about my friend's Lyme.

Thank you.

Hi Phil - Thanks so much for this. It is a bit more encouraging

then. How about the cost though? Is it really $3,000 for the

initial labs and 2 visits? .

year. We live in Arizona and drive to see him every two months. She

was diagnosed with MCTD from Dr. F and Lyme from Dr. H in Malibu,

California. We are going to both. She seems to have gone into

remission and is feeling almost like her old self. We go again in

two weeks and hope to be finished with the Lyme Doctor and have her

medications reduced by Dr. F at this time. The protocol seems to be

working for her. Phil rheumatic Dr. F in California

Hi Ken. It's a long story, but I'll try to make it short. In 2003 my wife

had colon cancer and was operated on and then had chemotherapy. After that she

had anxiety attacks and depression. It's been almost five years and she is not

had a recurrance of the cancer and her depression and anxiety are gone. She is

still on 10mg of Lexapro although. In June of 2005 we were camping in the

mountains of Arizona and she had a bite on her leg. It didn't cause any symptoms

and it went away. In February of 2006 she started to get Raynauds and extreme

fatigue. Her blood tests showed that she had MCTD. The doctor wanted her to go

on Placquenil and methodetrate. She went on the Placquenil but refused the

methodextrate. We then went to Dr. F. in Riverside, California and I asked her

to be tested for Lyme using the western blot test from Igenex. She turned up

positive for Lyme. He said that he didn't treat Lyme, so we started to go to Him

for MCTD an Dr. H. for Lyme. In January of 2006 Dr. F tested her muscle enzmyes

and said they were way out of normal and she had to go on 40 mg of prednisone to

just bring them down or she would end up in a wheelchair. He also put her on

immuran, an immune system depressant. He also put her on Minocin 100mg twice

daily and kept her on Placquenil and the Lexapro. Dr. H put her on Zithromax and

Omnicef for the Lyme. Dr. H then in September changed her to Rifampin. Dr. F

has reduced her prednisone gradually to 5MG. She still is on Placquenil,

Lexapro, Immuran, Rifampin, Minocin, and Predisone. On our next visit we hope to

gradually wean off the prednisone and then the Immuan. Dr. H said that he would

take her off of the Rifampin then also. We hope that is the last of his

treatment, but he said he would like to see how she was doing when she was off

the prednisone and immuran. We then hope Dr. F will take her off the placquenil

and see how she does. As far as her raynauds and fatique goes she is

much better. She does all the cooking and cleaning around the house, as well as

walking about 4 miles three times a week. She is not as strong as she used to be

and has to be careful not to get too tired. We are not sure what is making her

better, but we're happy she is. One thing that we don't know if her age has

caught up with her. She just turned sixty nine. Two and a half years ago we were

going on very rigorus hikes in the canyons of Arizona. Phil
